I voted Maradona, though Best & Pele are on his tail.

Messi may very well be the best of all time, but I want to see him do something in the World Cup too.

I dunno about Zidane, I think he's up there but I dunno.

Maybe it's because he didn't really have a nice hair style ... and you convinced me that hair is important.

IMO:
1) Maradona
2) Ronaldo (9)
3) Zidane
4) Pele
5) Messi

Based on their talent, their time, and the teams they inspired to win trophies, both club level and at international level. If Messi can inspire Argentina to a trophy, he'll move up the list.

Dalglish and Ronnie shouldn't be in that last.

The two of them are in the next echelon down.

one of Pele and Maradonna, anyway.

Although I suspect Messi will be their equal if not better the pair of them by the time his career is over.

As it stands 1) Pele 2) Maradonna 3) Real Ronaldo
Zidane was an artist.
No one played with a football as well ever.
He is the most elegant and graceful footballer ever.
Cept when hes sinking he nut into an eyt.

Without a doubt a magician and fantastic footballer but again in terms of being THE BEST, he's not in with a shout of being in the top 5.

To clarify, thats the REAL Ronaldo, not the blag one.
I think blag one will be one of the best by the time he retires though - scoring 40 goals a year in England/Spain is insane, even if you're a greasy cunt who should be punched daily.

OH definitely he's miles ahead of anyone else in world football at the moment.

It's just he's living in the shadow of Messi, big time.

Pele. 4th? Fucking hell! He did it when players of his ilk were unprotected. He stood out in the greatest side ever - Brazil 1970.
WHAT!? Do me a favour. He's a fucking whisker off being the greatest player ever.
A WHISKER.

He also only did it in Brazil for his club career, where players of his ilk get 'help'

That being said, he's obviously top 2

Voted for Maradona.

1. Maradona went to Napoli, the Serie A equivalent of Newcastle and won them the league twice and the uefa cup and a domestic cup.
2. He won Argentina the world cup and also captained them to the final in 1990.
3. Take Messi out of the Barca system and he goes from worlds greatest to average. You want proof see Argentina.

Doesn't matter though:

1.Maradona still the best
2. Messi
3. Fat Ronaldo

Pele - never saw him.

Is he chuff.

As I said he was majestic on the ball and made shit happen but the best ever, do me a favour, he's going more horizontal of fifth-tenth than verticle.

Ifyagetme?

I was born in the 80s and thus wasn't able to watch half of the names on the list so I'm going for Zidane
"not even in the top 5" im sorry hc but that is absolute bollocks. He bossed midfields for years in two different teams and scored (twice) in a world cup final and a champions league final.

Maradona followed closely by Bale 😉
Bale is a cert to be one of the best one day.

amended for accuracy

Best could do everything the rest could do, plus he was equally effective as a winger and centrally AND he could and did tackle like a demon with it. Nobody else - not Pele, not Maradona, NOBODY - in top class football has ever had his range of skills. And I saw Pele live too.

George Best, all day, every day.

In the space of a few sentences you say Messi is both:

a) average
b) the second best player in the world. Ever.

At least Neil waits for a few months before contradicting himself.
