Why is Paddy getting the plaudits here?
He just posted some stock picards.
Dreambeliever deserves ALL the plaudits for this thread.
Well played Pat.

*smh*
Care to explain that to me?

Comedy is all about timing. It's one of the reasons I'm so funny.

Paddy's timing here is exemplary. You can't give Dreamy "ALL the plaudits" because he was fucking denser than a black hole
Ok, maybe not ALL the plaudits.
Non NON of the plaudits Stu.
Paddy strode over this thread like Russell Brand strides over a wet panted groupie out the back doors of the o2 arena.
His 'Double facepalm' was THE key moment and DB was an innocent bystander.

Fuck you.
Don't be so fucking smart/

I did find it funny Paddy. Good work.

that would be orgasmic

This thread reminds me of that scene in Annie Hall where the TV producer says to the canned laughter operator, 'Can you give me here a medium-sized chuckle?'

Am I right to think that Aquilani may start against Arsenal? Just seems like it the way Benitez is talking.

You are not right to think this.

It'll be:

KUYT--MASHER--LUCAS--SOMEONE
--------------GERRARD---------------
---------------TORRES----------------

Ye i agree can't see Benitez playing Aquaman he will want 2 defensive mids disrupting Arsenals fancy passing game. I reckon he will risk him for the last 20 though. I would like to see pacheco on the bench again. Think his little cameo done more than enough to get him another chance.

I honestly cannot believe that's what you come kick off ...

Kuyt - off form for 3 months ... just like last year. You still think we can 'carry' him until his good patch arrives? He's contributed how many goals from RM this year (and forget Everton, he was up front for that - as he was for most of his goals last year)?

Mascherano - obviously

Lucas - off form and hasn't contributed a goal or assist in how long? Surely a 'almost' match fit Aquilani can offer us a better chance to score and create than Lucas?

(Either Kuyt/Mascherano or Lucas/Macherano ... We cannot have 3 midfielders who struggle to create any chances)

Someone - Never heard of him, is he any good?

And the gerrard/torres combo is solid.

Kuyt - In benitezs eyes is undroppable, Benitez is just to stubborn he loves the told you so moments. I think the guy should be dropped but you know Benitez just aint going to do that.

Lucas - Again Benitez doesn't like to take risks and i think he thinks putting Aqua in is going to be a risk. H ewill just want to disrupt them as much as possible, he ill want two defensively minded people sat in front of the defense.

Rafa is a stubborn fucker who will not take risks so i have to agree with Ryan although this it what i would want

Benny ---- Aqua ---- Masher ---- Riera
Gerrard
Torres

EDIT: Is riera injured?

I'd love Aqua to start, Arsenal don't have too many players that could break him in half so a good chance for more match fitness.

On a side note, did anybody see the pass Ramsey played to Walcott on Wednesday night? It was fantastic and it made me cry. Lucas would never have spotted that pass as an option. If he did spot the runner he would have failed to execute it also. Silly Lucas.

I'd start Aqui and I'd include Pacheco in the squad.

Games against Arsenal is always going to be more about pace and skill than sheer strength anyways.

And they are probably fielding quite a handful of young ones themselves.

We have to hope that we can take the lead in this game. Our confidence is so low that conceding first could bring about a heavy defeat and Arsenal are just the team to exploit weakness.

I can't help feeling pessimistic. I haven't felt this way since the worst days under Souness.

I can't watch and I've not felt like that ever before.

Even scoring first wouldn't reassure me particularly. We've scored the first goal against Lyon (twice), Birmingham, Man City and Fiorentina in recent weeks, and haven't won any of those games.

I desperately hope he starts Aquilani. I think his inclusion will help morale (well, maybe not Lucas'). Not holding my breath.

Ramsey should have been our player. Rafa was the first to show an interest in him, but the deal got snarled up at board level under the old regime.

Shocker!

I suppose it could easily have been Ramsey making that pass to Walcott for Liverpool if we had the money and foresight to buy young players and then give them a chance tt play some football.

I don't think Ryan was implying that this was the best selection, merely just implying that this is the selection you are most likely to see. Sadly, I have to agree. I don't see Rafa changing anything. sigh.

It'll be great if Cesc and Gallas are both ruled out along with RVP and co.
Yep, 'cos without Cesc and against ten men we really tried to batter them last season, eh..?

Seriously though, I do think we'll pull it off tomorrow, 'cos even through this horrific form, the games we have won have been the big ones (scum, blues).

Here's the yet another re-(re-(re-(re-)))start of the season tomorrow afternoon.
