The 6 Nations

Me neither. A pound to a penny says Jenkins, for one, will have to come on at some stage against that Italian front row.

I thought maybe 4-5 changes, but certainly not 10!

I'm not worried by our backs at all as i don't think we are weakened much, but the pack looks potentially very fragile indeed. I understand Gatlands viewpoint about this being a good game to give a bit more experience to certain players, i just hope it doesn't backfire on us.

Had you beaten France he wouldn't have made so many changes with a grand slam still at stake.

I think your backline needed a bit of shaking up anyway, Hook is deserving of a chance against Italy at least.

Yeah i think so to Rosco.

That backline picked is potentially the most potent we've put out so far this Six Nations IMO. Like i said though i do think that we might struggle upfront with the pack he's picked.

England
Wales
Ireland

Kiss goodbye to that title, boyo.

Not quite yet mate! If we can give the Italians a decent beating then it's still very much on.

You've also got to take into account that the Irish always choke in at least one game in their 6 nations campaigns 🙂

Yes, we do...

And I think that it's next week's match this season.
[/quote]

It should be a great game regardless of the outcome hopefully.

With quite a few of the players from both sides vying for same lions places, it should add that little bit more spice to the occasion as well.

Like all Irishmen, the eternal optimist is starting to rear it's ugly head in me though...

I know that we ALWAYS f#$! it up when it matters most, but last week's England performance, with the ferocity of the tackling, and the sheer 'we're winning this f#$!ing game, no matter how badly we play' attitude showed me something I haven't see in many years.

Maybe this IS the year after all.

And there I go, jinxing it. Cue a 15 point Scotland victory.

I think it's different for us this year Rafa. I believe this is the best coaching set up we'ev ever had. Kidney has been successful at every level of the game and while he's not a technical coach he has shown himself to be exceptional when it comes to the selecion and motivation of a team. He has a magic touch. He has also surrounded himself with excellence, Gert Smal was the forwards coach for the Springboks in the last World Cup. Our pack is better this year than it has been for a while, Alan Gaffney is our new backs coach and this far we've been the most clinical back line in the Championship.

I genuinely believe Irish rugby is entering a new era. We'll do it this year.

Anyway my predictions for the weekend:
Wales by 15
Ireland by 10
England by 3

I wouldn't be surprised at all if you did the Slam TBH Rosco.

As far as i can see you've definitely got the 2nd best coaching set up in Europe 😉

If we beat the Italians well, i think i might take a trip to Cardiff for the decider. It should be a fantastic atmosphere and the evening out is always entertaining.

There's a giveaway in that post of mine that tells you what sort of state I was in last night ! Had I been sober I never would have predicted England to beat France. But I'll stick with it anyway.

Fuck you HC!

Grand Slam here we come.

And Rosco has his ticket, flights and hotel sorted for the grand slam weekend. Happy days

Quickfire start against the French..

If the french lose Ireland have won haven't they ? unless the welsh beat them by some silly amount?

I fucking hate the irish at rugby, bunch of cunts.

France are awful, but any team would struggle with Chabal playing at 7. Lievremont is surely going to get sacked, he's a dire coach who really has failed to give this French side any sort of direction.

So how come they beat Wales then?

Face it Rosco, England were fucking awesome in that first half. Mediocre in the second half, due to the game being won and Goode replacing Flood, but at least we showed we can play rugby.

Partly because Wales aren't as good as they were last year, partly because he almost got his team selection right that time.

France have the talent to win this tournament easily. Lievremont makes too many changes and ignores the fact that a number of the players he picks don't normally play in the positions he's put them in.

England deserved the win today regardless of that, but Lievremont is fucking up that France team.

Try again Ross. Go on, you can do it. Repeat after me: 'England played really fucking well.'

It was an England monstering, my friend, and you still haven't recognised that.

I don't hate the Irish at rugby though. You'll be worthy winners.
