If Roman is so stupid, how come Chelsea have been so successful over the past few years?!?

BTW I agree we got a good deal on Studge.

thank you very much for being such a stoopid cunt and knowing so little about football, thank you for selling Sturridge to us, believing you know best.

I wanted Sturridge when we signed Carroll but he is going to be much better than I thought he would be. Chelseas loss our gain. Bearing in mind he is easing himself into a new club are any of the current Chelsea strikers better than him?

How much more successful would they have been if he hadn't fallen out with Mourinho for example? Lets be honest with the money he has given them they have most likely underachieved. He has either been very poorly informed by his advisors in letting Studge go or just a poor judge of a footballer

Long time lerker, new poster here.

You’re like that kid in school that thinks everyone likes him, and thinks people cares what he says. That kid that no matter how much you try and ignore, or get away from, he’s always somehow lands up in your classes and in your face.

Eventually you just give up and accept him, accept that he is an idiot and no matter what happens, no matter how much people try and drum it in to him that he’s an idiot, he stays an idiot.
LOL - Post more lad. 😎

It is rather strange that they were open to him leaving. We didnt blow them away with an offer they couldn't afford to refuse. Maybe since Di Matteo refused to use him they forget how good he was.

Chelsea are mugs

"Maybe since Di Matteo refused to use him"

Maybe that should be rephrased as told not to use him.

It really is strange as he is disproving all the negative hype ie selfish - not a clinical finisher - bit up himself and a difficult character. Their loss our massive gain

As a side note to Sturridge, I was quite pleased gerrard let him take the peno yesterday, Sturridge's was boss, and gerrard's was not.

Hang on a sec - Gerrard scored a pen and it was bad?

It was in the bottom corner.
If the keeper went the right way then why didn't he save it?

Well it was ok, it wasn't exactly a stuart pearce special. Keeper nearly got to it. You not watch the game or attempting sarcasm?
He doesn't look confident taking them.
I have watched the game. Twice. It was a good pen because he scored it. I suppose it was a shame it wasn't 'a stuart pearce special' though..............

When the left defender has scored more premier league goals in one season than the winger has in two. Anything goes.

There's one thing not wanting a player to be in the team and there's another actively hounding him out.

There's a reason You'll Never Walk Alone is sung at every game and is the club's anthem. It actually stands for something.

Ah give modo a break. Downing has been awful, just not as awful lately. It's players like this that have killed us since 09

It's not really about that local, it's about the fact the idiot can't stop posting it in every thread remotely linked to him, when he's not telling us how much he hates Carragher. And yes, speaking of "players like this that have killed us since 09", it's a bit rich that the same idiot kept banging on about Aquilani until everyone was glad to see the back of the lad.

If we start calculating what Aquilani has cost us during his time at Anfield, I think you'll find the actual players that have killed us.

Ok it's the repetition, fair enough Mark, just not like you to take a pop. Modo is in Brendans army y'see. And Cole, Hansern! Modo, are ya repeating yourself too much? Let's do a sticky thread, "Downing is awful, needs to go, but hasn't been as awful lately". Should cover all necessity to speak of his mediocrity..

Ok, I'm on now to resolve gun control in the USA between the NRA and liberals. Should be easier than the downing issue..

It seems pretty rare that we get a signing that has such an immediate impact. He's been very good and given us a much needed extra dimension in attack.

I feel that the true test for Sturridge here is yet to come. Right now he's full of hunger to prove himself to the footballing world and it'll be interesting to see that once he's satisfied himself to some degree in that area whether he'll really settle down and kick on.

He showed both sides of his game tbf, but at his best it was more about his link up play, which was brilliant at times. And I just love how direct he is, he's exactly what we need and he's a genuine threat, but he does miss chances, as we saw with the few one on ones he had which he overelaborated on. He's young though and playing every week will serve him and us well. We have a genuinely exciting attack for the first time in God knows how long.

Yeah, he was wasteful in front of goal and sometimes he's a little slow in moving the ball along - he likes doing a little turn for some reason.

The potential all seems to be there though. He has been better than I expected him to be.

I was delighted we got him as I thought we had finally got a really top striker in after a few false dawns, He doddles on the ball a bit at times for me but he's been excellant so far.
How will his 2nd season go I wonder. Hopefully better.

He's done well since joining. We look a much more threatening team with him in it.

Let's hope it lasts, there can't be too many more 'big' clubs willing to take a punt on him if he goes off the boil with us.

It's starting to feel like January is the time to buy players, it seems like they are our best successes of recent times(one major exception).

The most baffling transfer of the season - easily was Chelseas best striker and a better footballer than Torres and Ba - fucking mad - nice to shaft someone in a transfer for a change

If we had him from 1st transfer window, we might've made it to top 4. Anyway, hope he'll push on next season!

Quite probably, the thing is, as with Coutihno, he can only get better. They could be a frightening combination if their understanding keeps on developing like this

Daniel Sturridge has scored more goals in his opening 15 games than any of Suarez, Rush, Fowler, Torres, Owen or Dalglish did for Liverpool.

Wow...
