I think he is expressing normal feelings that you would expect as a player who has to break into a well set successful team. Let's be honest who was he going to displace on a regular? He's not good enough to displace Mane, Salah and Firmino and his loan move to Southampton didnt precisely do him any favours. He would be a smashing player for a team lower down or Arsenal but not for us.

That's just wrong. They wanted him on a permanent deal that summer but he did well enough there for us to take him back into our squad at that stage. I agree with the summary in your final sentence but let's not rewrite history.

I think we always expected that Minamino was something of a punt. Low fee, if he made it, great, if he didn't then we expected we'd at least get our money back.
In the event, it's somewhere in the middle, he's contributed and we've turned a profit. I'm not going to hold it against the lad that he wasn't good enough to dislodge any of the guys in front of him. Hope he does well at Monaco.

I think Taki was a bit unfortunate last season. He clearly improved and contributed when given the chance. Only thing is the players in front of him arent easy to displace in the first team.

A player that will probably be a good signing for Monaco and we get back twice what we paid for him.

I dont think Taki would even think he should be starting. There were games we were crying out for a sub who could score, and yet klopp didn't turn to him. Ever. It's just fucking weird.

Knew he would not have a long Liverpool career from the footage of him standing awkwardly off to the side when we won the title. He's clearly never really been settled at the club.

He was signed as backup, he was never good enough to get ahead of Mané or Salah. Adding Jota, Diaz and Nunez in just made him more obsolete.

In fairness to him, he signed and then the world went into lockdown and then when they came back to training there was all sorts of social distancing. He didn't really have a chance to be one of the lads.

Plus you have to take the Japanese culture into the equation. Takes a bit of time to open up to social groups for a lot of people, especially abroad.
He easily paid for his fee with his goals and we’re making over double what we paid for him. Good luck to him.

Sound, so thats 10 goals gone from taki, 23 from mane.

Darwin and Fabio have a lot to do

6 from Origi too
So we've lost 39 goals this summer

It'll be fine

Darwin hopefully can get numbers like last season, and hopefully big harvs and the midfield posse can pick up a few more

We're getting a full season of Diaz. Sharing 39 goals between Carvalho, Diaz and Darwin is doable.

22 of those 39 goals were in the league as well. I'll be surprised if Diaz/Darwin dont manage to score 22 goals between them this season.

We will definitely make up those 39 goals. In fact I'm hopeful we'll score way more than that between the three newcomers.

And Salah not being a mong for a third of a season.
