Try something new, not something said 3 months ago.

Besides, he'll end up dross like 90% of our team is.

Ha, I'm surprised this typically cretinous post went unnoticed, or ignored. Oh actually...

I don't know much about him, but he'll add some much needed squad depth.

Let's hope he can stay out wide and cross a ball reasonably well.

Why didnt you read the first six words of the OP? Then when you have read it all, if you have nothing constructive to say, just ignore it.

I think so. He also said he was fucking off but kept coming back to see what people were saying about him

Personally, I think he is trying hard to get peoples backs up and get binned.
I hope he succeeds sooner rather than later

regards

The problem was nobody remembered who he was.

Or ever cared.

Seems a bit of a harsh comment that :🙂

Anyway after doing a search it seems there was a thread on Sylvain Marveaux awhile ago - so mods feel free to delete.

Heard this a couple of weeks ago...

Reports he's signed a pre-contract - coming on a free in the summer

His advisors have denied it, but that could mean nothing of course.

He'll be an improvement on Maxi/Jova, no doubt about that. Youngish player, loads of potential, pace and creativity. Moneyball signing for sure. If it doesnt work out, we can sell him for decent money.

Still need two wingers.

Can't say I've seen very much of him but, as I've said elsewhere, it quite concerns me when a players youtube clip consists of him taking corners.

If our top scout in France has given it the green light, then thats good enough for me.
The one we snatched from Spurs is apperantly extremely highely regarded.

Which one we snatched from Spurs?

Harry Redknapp has accused Damien Comolli of stealing one of Tottenham's chief scouts following his move to Liverpool.

Comolli returned to White Hart Lane to enlist the services of Steve Hitchin, the North Londoners' talent spotter in France, following his appointment as Director of Football Strategy at Anfield earlier this month.

And ahead of tomorrow's meeting between the sides Redknapp vented his anger at the actions of the former Spurs man in recruiting Hitchin, whom he claims was set to act as the club's number one scout on the continent.

"He's nicked him off us," said Redknapp.

"He was really good, an English boy who lived in France.

"We liked him a lot. He would have been our main scout abroad.

French star admits Liverpool deal “closeâ€

There have been numerous rumours in the last couple of months that the Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish was close to securing the services of the French former U21 winger Sylvain Marveaux.

The 24 year-old’s contract at Rennes is set to run out in just three months, and Marveaux has been in lengthy talks with the Liverpool director of football strategy Damien Comolli regarding a Bosman move.

Now it seems that the deal is all but complete as the player himself is quoted in the People as saying: “I am very close to reaching agreement with Liverpool about joining them next season.â€

Marveaux is a very versatile midfielder but is usually utilised on the left wing. He suffered a groin injury in early October while playing in a local derby for Rennes against Brest, and although he is expected to be fit by the end of the season, the manager Pierre Dreossi has publicly stated that it was unlikely he would play any more games for Rennes.

Don't think so mark. For me it's a potential cheap, young left winger. I've have him for depth at least.

N'gog was a young, cheap striker. Who's also shit.

Not sure about this signing, but as long as he's on relatively low wages then I guess it couldn't hurt. I just don't want any more dross. We're diluted enough as it is.

Providing he isn't first choice (if he is shit) I have no qualms. By all accounts he is highly rated, whereas n'gog no one had a clue

Was MArk Gonzalez highly rated? I can't remember. Guessing No?
[/quote]

Yeah, I remember Rafa saying we'd just signed the best young player in Chile (or wherever he was from).

The article from The People:

LIVERPOOL are on the brink of agreeing a pre-contract to sign Rennes star Sylvain Marveaux.

The 24-year-old left-sided midfielder is set to move on a free transfer this summer following talks with Kop director of football strategy Damien Comolli.

Marveaux (below) has previously been linked with MANCHESTER UNITED, CHELSEA, WEST HAM and NEWCASTLE.

The France Under-21 international admitted: “I am very close to reaching agreement with Liverpool about joining them next season.â€

He has been ruled out of the rest of the French season and general manager Pierre Dreossi has admitted it is unlikely Marveaux will play for Rennes again.

Also on the Merseysiders’ list of possible targets are Seville wideman Diego Perotti and Hamburg’s Holland star Eljero Elia.

The La Liga club have received an enquiry from Liverpool about Perotti, 22, who can operate down either flank but prefers the left.

Argentina international Perotti is under contract until 2015 but could go for around £8million.
