On Eurosport right now.

Missed the first half, but here's some comments from reds fans.

Suso playing well. One brilliant bit of skill out wide too

Has looked very very good so far. Best player on the pitch alongside Deulofeu.

Bossing it tonight.

Suso absolutely running riot in this game..... Great ball for the 3rd goal! Hope he can get a loan next season because he needs regular games

Spain 3-0 up against the US

Strange sort of game.

Spain scored after 5 minutes and got the 2nd and 3rd goals after the 40 minute mark.

Spain looked complacent for a long stretch after the first goal and the US sorta got into the game a bit but without really threatening all that much and had only one decent chance. The US looked a long way behind in terms of technique and they were a fair few miss hit passes when they got into decent positions.

Suso was playing on the right-wing and was very solid throughout and had a fair few moments of decent quality including a nice shot on target that the keeper finger tipped away. He had a number of decent long passes including one lovely one to open up the space for the 3rd goal. Showed some nice close control by the end line to create a decent Spanish chance. Overall probably Spain 2nd most impressive performer after Delefou who probably edged things by getting a goal and assist.

I didnt think much of the Spanish midfield and thought they looked very complacent for long stretches.

Suso did well in the 2nd half as well. His passing is top class at times.
The Spaniards did get a bit comfortable after the 4th goal but they also controlled the game.

Suso always seems to do well in the national team and its quite evident that he's an important player for them.
I really want to see more of him, preferably with us, but a loan move would suit him well.

Him and coutinho in the same team would make us almost unstoppable.

No it wouldn't. Both are lightweight, but Coutinho's balance is superb, while Suso could be knocked over by a strong gust of wind. Suso needs to improve drastically in that respect. There's no doubting his talent, though.

Any idea why Marc Pelosi wasn't on the US squad? I think Vilyan Bijev chose to play for Hungary...

Pelosi only started walking again about a month ago. I think he's a fair bit away from playing yet.

Whoa. Looks like he had a great game.
Honestly, if he were in a Spanish side and we were linked to him right now, a lot of us would be creaming ourselves about the prospect of signing a young yet mature, talented, skilful player with vision.
The lad needs game time. Should be a host of clubs that will be happy about taking him on loan.
It also pisses me off to see him doing the elastico yet again for his national side. He needs to do it for us!!

I'm a big fan of Suso and I hope he makes it here.

The concern I have is that he's so one footed. Are any of the big Spanish stars like that? He looked uncomfortable having to turn at times.

Yeah Suso will be a gem, I don't think there's too much doubt about it. The signings we're mooted to be making don't bode well for his chances of getting too much game time next season.

Isn't it quite obvious that he's influenced by Xabi Alonso?

So all this talk about Suso and Coutinho competing for the same place in the team is complete bollocks.

I think he's more of a between-the-lines player, a Silva-type, but he can obviously play the deep-lying playmaker role too. However I think he's best having more of license to roam than he would get in an Alonso type position, which demands discipline.

I don't recall Alonso doing many elasticos on the touchline.

Suso has a bit of Alonso in him in that he likes to ping passes about but he's much more of an offensive player at the moment and he's more of a Thiago than an Alonso.

I agree, Suso is quicker and has more to his game, but he must have a catalogue of Alonso games at home. It's eerie at times. He moves just like Alonso.

Hey, that could be a good song for Suso. "He's got the moves like Xabi"

Yea he does a lot of things in an identical manner to Alonso. He needs a loan this season badly, if we could get him somewhere like Southampton it would be ideal.

My worry is that he's had a load of quality games like this with the Spanish youth sides but he hasn't made the step up to get regular first team games with Liverpool. I think the best way forward for him is in the deep end, Wilshere style, with a lower placed premier league side.

Bloody love Suso he has so much talent. Yeah they played him on the right but he prefers the middle. I can definitely see him being our midfield playmaker. I really hope he gets a season loan to a premiership club. One year of experience will do him so much good and then he'll be ready to slot right into our midfield. He has more talent than henderson and allen combined.

Could be wrong but i swear Maradona was pretty much one footed as well. Didn't do him any harm.

Yeah, someone on Youtube comments said it very well: Suso's style is like a combination of Xabi Alonso and Iniesta. Bloody interesting combination!

Liverpool and Spain Under-20 midfielder Suso was in confident mood as he dealt with reporters ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with Ghana, the team’s second outing of the tournament.

“We did well against the United States and we are expecting another tough match against Ghana and again later this week against France. So we’ll be taking one step at a time, the squad is really motivated and we will just be trying to get as far as possible in the competition. All of us want to win the World Cup. Spain have been tagged as favourites in all of the different categories but we’re not thinking about that. We’ll take it step by step and thinking only of the next game,” Suso said on Sunday.

The Cádiz-born attacking midfielder spoke highly of his national team colleagues Jesé Rodríguez and Gerard Deulofeu who both bagged braces in the opening game against the United States, “They are both so fast that it’s almost impossible to defend against them. We were able to set them off towards goal with a few long balls in the first game because the US left spaces at the back and it worked out in our favour. I am sure though that Ghana’s defenders will really put a lot of pressure on us. We’ve watched a few videos and that’s what they play like at the back,” Suso continued.

He hopes the experience with Spain’s Under-20s will stand him in good stead with Liverpool next term, “I might help me – some players have been lucky to get minutes in the Liga BBVA but for Spain, most of us already knew each other as this squad has been together for a while. This is the World Cup and all the best players are here. We’ll just be trying to do the best we can. As far as my position goes, I don’t really mind whether I am deployed out on the wing or playing through the middle. The important thing is that the coach has faith in me,” he concluded.
