And yet they're 14th.
Ken - I mentioned a few weeks back that they've had to deploy 16 different back four formations this season, and as a result have kept something like 2 clean sheets all season.
Brendan - The comparison between bent and N'Gog is apples & oranges. One has been playing in the Premier League for 4/5 years, is older, and cost 10 times as much. He's a better goalscorer than N'Gog, no doubt, but he's not good enough for us. Two successive Spurs managers decided against him, and despite all these goals no England manager has ever looked twice at him. Unless an injury crisis kicks in he won't go to the World Cup either. He's just way too one-dimensional. He can put the ball in the net alright (some of his finishes this season have been remarkable), but that's it. He just doesn't fit into the style of play that good sides look to deploy. His movement is often brainless, he's not good with his back to goal, and his ability to find possession and space against top sides isn't great. There's a reason why none of the top 6 want him.
Cana isn't all that. You've been blown away by one or two decent performances. Watch him more often. Yes he's discilpined, and steady, but there;'s not a lot there. Again, he wouldn't get on for a top side.
Cattermole's done well. They wouldn't be 14th had he been fit, but I don't recall you or many others crying out for us to spend 10M on him last summer anyway.
