Sunday times reporting that we've approached AVB

I'm not advocating we take AVB, but, he's experience at winning major trophies and he's been in charge of big teams with high expectations. He's got a pretty good win % too across different leagues. It's not like he's shit, although he is a bit of a cunt.
His crouching and 'celebrate with me' routine isn't exactly that worse than 'dont be in the envelope' or 'only trust each other, oh, and the fans, oh and your families'.
You must be his agent. In charge of big teams? Sure - and they both got rid of him inside 6 months.

A good win % - sure, if you only look at the minor leagues he's managed or you had no expectations for the "big" teams.

"Celebrate with me" was alright? Actually I really don't think I can do justice for that one - probably the most absurdly insecure, superficial instruction I've ever heard. That it should be at Chelsea was only fitting.

I liked AVB when he was in Portugal but he's been found out badly in the step up and his system is probably defensively worse than Rodgers.

Porto, Chelsea, Spurs, Zenit. They aren't exactly Watford, Reading and Swansea.
The celebrate with me thing was absurd, but I'm saying so was some of the stuff Brendan has done. 'dont be in the envelope'.

Did you not read the following sentence?

Wizardry's not disputing he was in charge of big teams. He's reminding you that they binned him one after the other in less than half a year because he was so poor at both. Porto have punched above their weight in Europe in their time, but that doesn't make them a big team any more than once winning the Euros made Greece a giant of European football.

Arguably a better achievement than England winning the world cup in 66.

He denied these rumour's on the 7&9th. Let's hope hes telling the truth. He might steady the ship before it sinks though.🙂

Mors in a Jedi mind trick there. "I'm not advocating, but I'm kinda going to end up advocating"

I'm not convinced by either. Rodgers looked good when he had a team with Suarez, AVB looked good with a good team in a poor league. They might both turn out to be brilliant managers, but they might both end up being chancers. This season without a star striker, Rodgers has looked hopeless, and the defence has shown it's true colours.
If Rodgers can't show improvement by the end of the season, it might be time to look at an older/steadier hand. At the moment we need to swap out style for substance.

I see a lot of similarities. AVB had an amazing season in Portugal with the Falcao/Hulk. He had a very good season at Spurs with Bale. His first season without a high quality attacking player, he got fired.

Same with Brendan and Suarez/Sturridge.
