Still interested in Toby Alderweireld from Ajax . From De Telegraaf today . He prefers us but is keeping his options open . 9 million euros . He is a good young Belgian international , plays centre back or right back . Link is in Dutch .

I like him indeed. Good physique, balance and also a good allround fooballer.

And the way Vertonghen has taken the Prem with storm this Season gives one hope that even defensive players from the Eredivisie can more or less make an instant impact as we've seen the attacking-minded players do over the years.

You could argue that Vertonghen was a 'bigger' player for Ajax before his move than what Toby is now, and you'd be right, but he won't be quite as expensive either, but still with great potential.

Like that's important on here. Defensive ability takes second place behind being a pretend fullback who's actually a winger, or a centre back who scores a Worldy one every 6 years.
