[article]Liverpool are making a move for Independiente Santa Fe defender Kevin Mantilla.

TMW says Liverpool are targeting Mantilla and are ready to make an offer.

The 19-year-old is viewed as a talented prospect in South America and the Reds are said to be in a battle with Torino, PAOK and FC Porto for Mantilla

But Jürgen Klopp's side are ready to offer €4m to acquire the defender's signature before the summer market swings open.

But Independiente Santa Fe are said to be 'asking for more'.[/article]

No idea who he is, but I like its not a few hundred K and physically he look good

He apparently impressed in the recent U20 CONMEBOL Championship. Made his first team debut towards end of last season and started both league games this season (and did well).

15-20m.

Bit more than what Ward went for I reckon, 2nd choice keeper at the end of the day.....you're never gonna get more than bit of pocket change for them.

No chance. Ward barely got a look in for us, Kelleher has been trusted with finals, and has consistently showed his value in games.

I reckon we could fetch 30m+ for a talented homegrown keeper

Get in. We needed a new player we couldn't get a work permit for since we sold Awoniyi and Arroyo

You’re off ya rocker if you think that….playing well in a handful of games over 4 years and starting in a league cup final doesnt make your value 30m

playing in champions league, fa cup, premier league, league cup (all the games including the final) and being successful in multiple penalty shootouts certain makes your value a lot more than danny fucking ward

Well Danny Ward had a few very successful loan spells, including playing in Europe for Aberdeen and saving pens in a shoot out to get Huddlesfield promoted.

& Ward went for what? 12-15m or so....and I said I think Kelleher goes for a bit more but 30m is fucking pushing it a bit come on.

Don’t you like to scream other clubs are paying £80 million for potential?

And thats what 15m gets you. Aberdeen and huddersfield.

Kelleher did more than Kepa did before his stupid money move. Why in living fuck do people we need to just lube up for our backups to be sold.

Playing a full season in helping a team get promoted to the Prem is much better than playing 4 games in the League, 2 games in the CL and playing a league cup final over 4 years + few other shoot out wins (v Derby I mean who the fuck cares about that)

We can agree to disagree on this, not a problem....just the way I see it.

Not really. It's all down to style of play. Huddersfield weren't some swashbuckling side leaving ward to do it all on his own. We play a high line against vastly superior teams.

Its why buying a player from the championship is cheaper than buying a player from a top league. Generally, because the top league is better

Ward was bought as a 15m backup to Schemichel. Kelleher would be being bought to replace a cunt at a decent side.

Kelleher has tons of potential and I hope, if we're considering selling, that it's for a decent chunk of change. Otherwise we're one injury away from the likes of Adrian or whoever else comes in of similar quality between the pipes. And if we look to bring in a better caliber of backup keeper we'll be spending at least eight digits to do so, so what's the point in selling Wee Kevin.

Adrian will be gone at the end of the summer

Loan Irish Kevin out for a season to be first choice at a decent Premier League team -that way he gets games and his value increases.

Loan him to Leicester, Forest, Palace or West Ham - he could easily start for either of them next season.

We can look to find a cheap veteran as back up and give either Davies or Pitaluga some League Cup games.

I’d even take Lloris as back up on a free if he didn’t want stupid money - but he would. Shouldn’t be too hard to find a cheap keeper from somewhere.

Apparently Gladbach lowered their asking price for Kone from 45m euros to 30m euros.....not sure how believable but if true should be all over that.

Will be injured soon as we sign him.

Kone for €30m would be amazing but I'm pretty sure he will go for over €45m. Tieleman's is another no brainer, Kamada I really like and he can play CM and poses real goal threat from MF.
Let's assume Klopp had a net budget of £250m and bearing in mind you are only allowed 17 non-homegrown players over 21 who would be on your shopping list?

I really don't want to see Kelleher go, I think he's got what it takes to be first choice for us. I don't understand why we don't send him on a PL loan for at least a season. Gets him the minutes he wants/needs and keeps him on our books.
Would be a massive mistake to sell him imo

Most of you will think this mad, But I would sooner sell Alisson and hold on to Kelleher...
Alisson is a big unit, but prone to brain farts. I do not see that in Kelleher, He can command his goal area as good as Becker, and his record at stopping penalties speaks for itself. He is younger so should improve over time, plus we would get more for Alisson and could therefor invest that move now.

If we were selling, for me It would be Becker.
But in realtiy I would hold on to both. You never know when injuries will strike

No - I quite agree..... You are fucking mad....

It's not mad, it's criminal to suggest that. In fact if I were head of MI6 that would warrant an arrest.

Kelleher has played a grand total of 5 games in the league and CL......compare that to Ali's 200+ and you tell me which you think the most of the brainfart moments will come from.
