The sensible approach is to loan Kelleher out to a top side and monitor his progress. If he’s as great as we hope sell Ali for big bucks and promote Kelleher.

Anyone but Gomez..

Liverpool conceded 26 goals in the Premier League last season (0.68 goals per game), keeping 21 clean sheets from 38 games (55%), but Jurgen Klopp’s men have fallen way short this campaign – the Reds have already shipped 28 goals in 23 games (1.2 goals per game) and only have eight clean sheets (34%).
Klopp isn’t short of options at centre-back with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Nat Phillips, but Matip and Konate have been sort of playing time due to injury while Phillips has fallen down the pecking order, so it’s little wonder Liverpool are being linked with Max Kilman.
According to Ben Jacobs in his Caught Offside column, the Reds could battle Tottenham Hotspur for the 25-year-old’s signature. Kilman joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Maidenhead United in 2018 and has gone on to make 94 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal with two assists.
Kilman is joint-first in the Wolves squad for clearances per game (4.6),second for shots blocked per game (1.1) and second for aerial duels won per game (2.3), so he’s proven himself an aerially dominant defender that puts his body on the line to protect his goalkeeper.
The 6ft 4in Englishman has been a regular at centre-back for Wolves, making 28 appearances this season, but his future might be away from Molineux. Kilman still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his deal, but he might consider his future if the Old Gold suffer relegation.
Pete O’Rourke told Give Me Sport in 2022 than Kilman could cost around £40m, so that might be how much Liverpool or Tottenham have to pay to procure his signature this summer. That being said, it remains to be seen how high the 25-year-old is on a list of potential targets, as Liverpool are sure to prioritise signing a defender and will want to mull over many options.

Matip has made 18 appearances across the board this season but has started just nine league games after a calf problem kept him out for weeks. Konate has played only five times in the top-flight due to a knee injury and muscle problem too. As for Phillips, he’s fallen down the pecking order and has been an unused substitute for much of the campaign, so Klopp needs reinforcement.
The same can be said of Tottenham, as the North Londoners are also seemingly in the market for another defender this summer, with Kilman on their radar.

[article]GOAL are reporting that ‘finding another Van Dijk is just as important for Klopp this summer’. It is noted that ‘at least one centre-back is required’.

The report goes on to name seven defenders that are being considered by Liverpool.
Benfica’s Antonio Silva and Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio ‘have been scouted’ and are ‘expected to be the subject of transfer offers this summer’.

Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill is also ‘admired’. The defender is on loan at Brighton and has been in great form but it is suggested that a transfer would be ‘a non-starter given the rivalry’ between the London club and Liverpool. It is said that the ‘same would apply’ to Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, who has shone on loan at PSV this term.

This is while Torino’s Perr Schuurs ‘has been looked at’ and the form of West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd ‘has not gone unnoticed’.

RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol is the final player mentioned. Liverpool are known to have interest in the Croatia international but the Bundesliga outfit would ‘want well over £70m’ to let him go.[/article]

Utd sending Dean Henderson on loan after loan hasn't done him any good. He's gone backwards and is pissed off these days. If we're not planning to cash in on Allison, then sell Kelleher.

The difference between the two is that Henderson actually got his opportunity when he went back to ManU but failed to take it. His drop in form preceded his going out on loan again. I'd not be averse to loaning Kelleher out, but I defo would not sell him unless he himself were set on leaving.

Fun (but mostly irrelevant fact): Max Kilman actually played for my hometown club before moving to Wolves.

Although he wasn't with us very long it's been remarkable seeing his progress from non league straight into the Prem.

I don't mind one year of loaning Kelleher out to see what he's made of. But I don't think multiple years is doing anyone any favors.

Most of you will think this mad, But I would sooner sell Alisson and hold on to Kelleher...
Alisson is a big unit, but prone to brain farts. I do not see that in Kelleher, He can command his goal area as good as Becker, and his record at stopping penalties speaks for itself. He is younger so should improve over time, plus we would get more for Alisson and could therefor invest that move now.

If we were selling, for me It would be Becker.
But in realtiy I would hold on to both. You never know when injuries will strike
Irish Kev is a sick note!We payed what was then a world record fee for Ali, and Kev is no way Ali's standards. How many of out attacks stem from Ali's quick decisions? If someone offered a decent fee and the kid wanted to go, then I would

7 - Who better than Mbappe?
8 - Who better than Jude?
9 - Who better than ....Maybe we give this 1 to Gakpo.
10 - Who better than Hendo? Nah I'm only kidding. Who better than Lautaro Martinez.

And overdue. Most of these players made absolutely no impact on this season other than acting as an anchor the entire squad is pulling against.
The concern will be that, as we know, it takes most players ages to get the Klopp way of playing. So I wouldn't be expecting a big push for the league next year.

We wasted Phillips, should have been ahead ot Matip and Gomez, kept him around for 2yrs for really nothing.

As Klopp said there are alot of right players in MF

Liverpool leading the pursuit for Serie A star as €36m price tag could scare off Juventus

Liverpool in ‘pole position’ for Teun Koopmeiners

Liverpool are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, as they aim to bolster their midfield ranks ahead of the upcoming season. The Reds are in the midst of a tough season so far, and Jurgen Klopp is keen to add some fresh faces to his squad in order to turn their fortunes around. The latest player with a link to the club is Teun Koopmeiners.
The Atalanta midfielder has stood linked with a move to Anfield in the past, and it appears that the rumours have resurfaced once again. According to reports in Italy, Liverpool stand in “pole position” to sign the Dutchman this summer, but they could face competition from Juventus.

According to Calciomercato via Liverpool Echo, following Juventus’ reluctance to pay the 25-year-old’s valuation of around €36million due to their financial constraints, the Reds now see themselves as the frontrunners to sign Koopmeiners from Atalanta.

Koopmeiners has had an impressive season with Atalanta so far, featuring in 25 games across all competitions and scoring six goals plus three assists and was fantastic in the World Cup for the Netherlands as well. His performances have caught the attention of several top clubs, including Liverpool, who are in need of midfield reinforcements.
Koopmeiners to the Reds?

Liverpool have been hit hard by injuries in recent seasons, particularly in midfield. With Jordan Henderson and Fabinho also not at their best, Klopp would be keen to add some depth to his midfield options. Koopmeiners could be the perfect addition, offering both defensive stability and an attacking threat.
One factor that could work in Liverpool’s favour is the presence of Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch centre-back played alongside Koopmeiners at the international level, and his presence at Anfield could help to sway the midfielder towards a move to Merseyside. Like how Virg helped Liverpool get Cody Gakpo on board, he could do us a favour once again.

Koopmeiners’ versatility and ability to play as both a defensive midfielder and a box-to-box midfielder certainly make him a valuable addition to any squad and Liverpool for sure who at this point in time long for such a player.
Overall, he is a talented player who could provide Liverpool with the midfield stability and attacking threat they need to bounce back from their recent struggles. While competition from Juventus is a possibility, Liverpool’s strong interest and potential advantages could sway the player towards a move to Merseyside.

Ultimately, only time will tell if Koopmeiners will make the move to Anfield, but it is clear that Liverpool are serious about strengthening their squad and competing at the highest level once again given their reported interest in other midfielders like Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunes as well.

I'm in the minority i'm sure, but i'm loathed to let millie go.

It's been a long fucking time since we had someone so professional and so consistent across multiple positions as him. He'll make an excellent coach

Defo. In fact he already does as I understand it. I'd even keep his player registration in case of serious emergency.

I'd have him in the squad for a best ever LFC team. Just for influence.

Really hope he sticks around as a coach.

Milner is not a problem, it’s only a problem if he’s starting more than 3 or 4 games a season. If he is that means there are injury problems or worse, we’ve got useless melts like Keita still in the squad.

I think big Joel is on the wane so no problem with that. We need a rock when we’re lumbered with the likes of Gomez and Konate who are much younger but frequently injured.

We absolutely must have some bargains lined up if there’s going to be a big overhaul. Fingers crossed for a new Hyypia and Xabi incoming.

Yep for me, this season anyway.
Klopp seems reluctant to play him though.
There’s this thing called being too loyal and reverting to type which Klopp has succumbed to. Not to say that’s necessarily a bad thing because who’s to say we wouldn’t be worst off had he kept shuffling the pack.
