Perhaps Downing needs to mirror himself on others who have reached high levels of power and infamy in their fields.
What about Adolf Hitler? At his peak he struck fear into half of Europe,Stewart so far has failed to strike fear into the likes of Phil Bardsley. Stewart could kick start his own propaganda campaign on twitter and be aided by his own gestapo of Spearing and Lucas. Was Hitler right or left wing? Same could be asked about our Stewart I suppose.
How about Elvis? Adored my millions with his signature look and moves. His charisma and footwork we're on another level as compared to the mundane Stewart. Would donning a pair of sideburns and greasing his hair give him a platform to shake, rattle and roll his way into our hearts?
Some could say Stewart Downing is already similar to Santa Claus. He has been putting gifts in front of Andy Carroll and Luis Saurez for a while now. However, unlike Santa, he had failed to bring joy to millions of people around the world. Both could be experiencing a sustained rest come January.
Perhaps Stewart should reinvent himself as an ex player of ours? Who better than the divisive Djibril Cisse. Both liked to spend time on either wing, both arrived with a promise of pace. At least Djib scored a goal or two eh Stewart.
Okay, so we've delved in the past to try help Stewart re invent himself but we also need to be strategic in our forward planning. Stewart needs to be dynamic and have the ability to constantly evolve and adapt in this ever changing environment we live in. He needs to be at the forefront of cutting edge technology to compete with rival wingers. Fucks stats, fuck prozone, fuck sabremetrics, 3D is the future and Stewart is gonna be ready.
