Liverpool have offered Raheem Sterling to a number of Championship clubs on loan, according to reports from The Metro.
The teenage winger made a blistering start to the Premier League season, becoming a first team regular.
However, with the arrival of Philippe Coutinho, and a drop in form, the England international has been relegated to a fringe role, with manager Brendan Rodgers keen to rest his starlet.
The Northern Irishman has now offered Sterling the chance to spend the end of the season in the second tier, playing regular football in a lower pressure environment.
Bolton, Brighton and Cardiff are said to be in the race, after Rodgers recommended the 18-year-old to them.
Blackpool are also an option, and Liverpool could look to use a loan switch as a potential sweetener in a move for Tom Ince.
No deal has been formally agreed, but it’s likely that many of the promotion chasing teams will be keen to tie up an agreement.
Sterling penned a new contract with Anfield club in November, ending speculation regarding a potential move to Manchester City.
Another Liverpool youngster who could make a similar move is Suso, who, like Sterling, has drifted out of the first-team in recent months.

I wouldn't be surprised if Birmingham were interested too, the commentators on the last youth match said they had people there watching the West Ham kids but the camera showed Rodgers talking to someone in a Birmingham coat.

What a step back for him. From 1 of the 1st names on the sheet and a match winner to bring loaned out. He'd get some kicking in the championship

I'd like him to take another step back and help the U18s beat Chelsea in the semis'.

Hodgson was an idiot for giving him an England cap. It was way to early for him and put him under unnecessary pressure.

Its not a step back for him. His first season in the Premier League is a success regardless.
Playing 7-8 games for a Championship team could be a good idea.

He's boxed clever, knew he was overplaying him but we needed a player there & we needed the wee fucker to sign a contract.

Now he's signed & is clearly knackered & out of form let him recuperate on someone else's blinder.

No issues sending him out on loan - get more experience, no pressure and clear out his mind for next season. He's had a great debut for this team, and I think he's been managed well.

Well it's been obvious he's not ready for the first team, so I think it'd be a good thing.

In with Wizzy with this one.

I can't see what harm it could do...

Utd have a young promising player at Crystal Palace in Zaha, sending Sterling out on loan is no different.

Yeah we've got such a massive squad that we NEEDED him to play for us, and then we buy one other rather fragile looking winger so it's time to loan him out?

Er... Nah.

I think we could survive without him for the rest of Season imho..

He has had a good season regardless... The championship could toughen him up a bit...

If he were in form we wouldn't. But with not that many games left & him too young to play relentlessly into form I think it makes sense.

Assadi has to go down as the strangest signing of the season. . Constantly out of favour since the day dot..

He seemed pretty handy earlier in the season, but just can't get a game or look in..

Don't think it's a good idea at all.
I would keep him here, give him a run out when we can and let him have a good rest over the summer.
We have not got that much cover

Don't particularly see the point of this. He needs a rest, so rest him. He can have the odd sub appearance and u21 start, then come back fresh in the summer.

Sterling's problem was always going to be his size, he still looks tiny out there and is easily shouldered off the ball. Hopefully he'll fill out some more over the next couple of years.

Nonsense, it'd be perfect for his development.

Beckham, Wilshere, Cleverley, Wellbeck, Evans, Gibbs, Lukaku, etc etc. Better clubs than us do this all the time, and it works. He's get far more out of playing 30-40 games for an average side than he would hanging round with us for a year and getting 10 minute sub appearances.

Same for Suso, Shelvey, and the rake of full-backs we've got.

Mr Rodgers played them lads and then as soon as they signed BOOM! Dropped.
Mr Rodgers is the mind games master.

At 18 you're never tired. And it's not like he's been playing in ALL the games.
His confidence is shot. Let him try and get that back over several games in the championship. No biggie.

I thought it was well known fact that Assaidi used to play for Carnlough GAA and has been brought in to spy on the dressing room for Uncle Bren

The Assaidi situation is really weird given that he's looked useful when he's been given a chance.

There isn't anyone in the squad that's better at beating a man than he is. Plus he doesn't look too dreadful at delivering a decent final ball.

I guess he must be shit in training or something... either that or Rodgers didn't want him and he was signed by the club. Who knows. I'm guessing he'll be off in the summer either way.

It's interesting to see Sterling, Suso and Shelvey all playing for the reserves now. I really like the fact that they're actually getting games - previously we used to have players (like Coates is now) just rotting away in the stands. It's no good.

So if a loan to a good club that plays football is a possibility I'd be all for it.

Mentally tired is different. Also, he has a court case looming which could be taking a toll

How come ronaldo and rooney were not mentally tired at the same age? Did they sleep in a different sort of bed?
I think it's more down to the fact sterling is a prospect at the moment, and that is all he is, he's not good enough to play week in week out in the premier league. In a few years he might be fucking ace, but not at the moment, far from it. There's no end product out of him when he plays, the best he can do is run fast towards the box then pass it off square or backwards at best. Maybe in a few years he'll have the instinct to go for goal or to create chances off a killer pass.
If we can get him out on loan to a good championship team who'll play him every week, it'll surely work wonders for him. Maybe then loan him out to bottom half premier league team next season.
