i almost feel bad for Spurs ... i hope they regain their form and confidence by walloping Manure ... until then, a few more losses please.

I'm not particularly arsed, never seen them as a rival. We beat them at their ground and that was great. Done with them now.

Arsenal could effectively put an end to Spurs domestic season by the end of the first week of January.

Seems like all Spurs fans are getting for Christmas, is a big dose of reality.

The shite coming from them at the start of the season was absurd at the time, like they were suddenly some sort of super power because they spent a few quid, love the way football can boot people in the bollocks and love the way its booted them.

The papers are sating Villas Boas didn't wan't Lamela, Chiriches, Eriksen and Chadli.

Lamela for 30 mill is a mess for them, yeah hes a talented young player but a club like them can't spend 30mill on a player and not play him, madness.

"You mean I get only one game? How about the weekend one?"

This should inspire the troops:

"It's been different. It's madness, really. I'm not used to sleeping two hours at night. I'm waking up thinking about footballers. I said the other day, I slept like a baby – I woke up crying four times in the middle of the night.

Yep, it has been the same for a while, the other Londoners will attest to that. Three years ago I had many of the idiots around here (where I live, not scm) telling me they were the fastest team in the world, play the best football in the league, etc, etc, that money just made them even worse. The humbling this season is very welcome, and those fools who are always there to tell you about it when they're doing well, are awfully quiet this season.

Townsend injured his hamstring too.

Looks like a Manchester derby final too.

Sunderland v Manchester United
Manchester City v West Ham

First legs to be played week commencing 6 January, second legs week commencing 20 January[/article]

I thought AVB would do well at Spurs actually, and would have said that they would do well if they found the right person to replace him. However, it seems that Levy just cant hire the right manager for them.

*Levy doesn't have the patience to persevere with the right manager.

Why not, we spent 35 million on player and didn't play him....

Not a rival in historical sense, so I rarely celebrate if they lose.
Everton, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, different story.

Well Chelsea aren't a rival in a historical sense either!

Spurs are very much rivals, in that their realistic aim each season is to at least qualify for the Champions League, the same as ours.

True, but I've changed my mind about them, considering our "history" playing against them in the CL league, losing the FA and League cup finals etc. They're more of a rival than Spurs are imo.

Fair enough.

To be honest I probably take slightly more pleasure from a Spurs demise purely because I have always found their fans so insufferable. I don't know that many Chelsea fans.

Yep, the only Chelsea fans I know are my girlfriend and her Dad, so my emotions towards them are weird now, I never like the club in 2005-2008, but since 2009 I've kinda wanted them to lose and win at the same time.

Understandable. I hate this new wave of Chelsea fans who don't even know who Dennis Wise is.

Perhaps, but AVB was never going to be that manager IMO. I was gobsmacked when Levy gave him the gig in the first place after the complete and utter lash-up he made of the Chelsea job. He could yet become as good as he thinks he is, but he's still a long way from it.

You're probably right about AVB, but as he hired him, he should have at least given him his full backing, instead of making him a scapgoat. The real mistake goes back to Harry though, he should never have fired him.
