You do not get to decide who is a real fan or not. At the crux of it you could want your team to win and not give a fuck about any other team. I'm not saying that I feel that way, because I hate Man United and hate seeing them win, but there is room for more than one type of fan. Football has become a bloated consumer event saddled with wankers with no fucking idea, but that's more to do with the media and money pumped into the game, not some weird United fans who'd like us to win the league.

Isn't it kind of amazing that they've kept up this rivalry with us though when Arsenal, Chelsea and now Man City have been much bigger rivals for the league for the past 20 years and more? Yeah, I know our record, and our perch and all that shit. But they've been vying for the league with other teams for decades. and yet they still don't want us to have it. I'm sure that it speaks to the fact that an entire generation of scum fans don't remember us being a factor in their world... We were never even rivals - When we ruled the world, they were also-rans, and the opposite applies. I would imagine that all those 'new' scum fans, who aren't from the area or born of scum-crazy parents, who simply chose them when they decided to like football, see us as the new kid, who actually play magic football and may be more palatable than those they've become used to competing against, like Citeh and the chavs... I was the same for us back in 1990 ... they hadn't been actual rivals for the title since the early 70s, but they were still the last team we wanted to see win the league.
