Any manager should get a few months minimum.

If by crimbo, roy indicates/performances suggest that on the pitch this club is moving in the right direction than I'm more than happy for him to get a stay of execution

By Christmas 4th could be so far out of sight, we fail to qualify (even the Europa might be out of sight), then we will be royally fucked.

No big names who would all want at least a Europa, no European Cash at all.

I don't think its down to the next 3 months, I think its possibly the next 3 Prem games.

If Blackpool beat us, its probably all over for him

We won't get Top 4.

I'd put Arsenal ahead of City Bren. Chelsea/Utd/Arsenal/City for the top four. The rest of us scrapping for Europa league places.

I don't get the thinking.

the out and out holding midfielders are poulsen and lucas
the left back is konchesky
the right back is johnson
the center backs are an aging carra, a positionally suspect skrtel and a weak agger

why on this green earth would you invite pressure?
Hahahaha. It's not exactly "rock solid" is it?

Unfortunatly Liverpool don't have time on there side, Roy needs to turn this round in the next four or five games. People say Liverpool don't sack there managers or give him to christmas. The problem we have is that if H&G get refinancing which will probably happen, Then the club need CL's football next season. If we don't get it then the club is royally fucked. There will be a mass exodus of players not because they want to leave but the fact the club will be financially fucked.

I am even close to saying bring in MON. At least we may start to see some attacking football.

I just don't like Hodgson talking about us needing time to bed in. We are playing the same system, with one or two changes in like for like players. Trouble is those players are worse, or the system is wrong. Why do we need time for players to adapt to one another when the core of our team has been the same for years.

I don't think that's entirely fair. Cole, Meireles, Poulsen, no Masher any more, Gerrard back in CM after a season further forward, a new manager overseeing it all - there's a fair bit there that does need settling down.

That said, Roy's pronouncements haven't helped, more a call to tea than a call to arms.

Ian Holloway has sent a warning to Liverpool that he's bringing his side here to attack.
When shit like that starts to happen I really fear the worse.
Roy's on a hiding to nothing with that game...it really is Roy's biggest game of his tenure.

It's not just about the results, we've been playing terrible football.
Hodgson hasn't got a plan B. He starts a game with a plan and then sticks to it until it ends.
Rafa frustrated me with his late substitutions but at least he made an effort to change things.

It pains me to see how we play. Sunderland upstaged us on our own ground. Man U played us off the park we got two lucky goals. Northampton beat our second string team that should be good enough to demolish them.
Our defence is fucking shambles. Carra is getting away with murder, on current form he shouldn't even be on the bench but fuck it he's Scouse. etc etc...

I kinda know how it feels to support Everton now.

I admit I wanted Rafa to leave but Hodgson wasn't my first choice.
When Hodgeson first went to Fulham they didn't improve right away and looked relagation certs.

Then his plans took shape and they turned into a very impressive outfit.

Much like what Bruce has done at Sunderland. They give every team a good test these days and drawing with them isn't as shameful as it may look.

Utd played well against us but they generally do at home.

Northampton was shambolic I agree but I put that more on the players. It was their chance to shine and they blew it.

Things are not good but F8ck me they are not that bad.
Roy takes shit teams and makes them competitive. That's what he's always done. He has his defenders sit deep, with the midfield just in front of them. Then he tries to make the most of any counter attacks. Which is fine if you're managing a bunch of plodders.

Unfortunately, those tactics don't translate very well when you actually have a few good footballers and a fanbase who expect a little more from their team. And therein lies the problem. Roy's brand of football simply isn't designed to be played by good footballers.

Indeed, but Roy's teams have played good football in the past, he has a good first 11 now. He just needs time to get the players to adjust to his style.

It can take a few months to get 5 years out of their system.

Sunderland haven't scored at Anfield in TEN YEARS, and got 2 on Saturday!

We luckily scraped a draw after being outplayed at ANFIELD by one of the teams we are supposed to annihilate, but because the top teams lost and united drew, lets all be happy.

Head in the Sand or fucking what??

Sunderland are a very capable side nowadays. They scored at OT they beat City, they are much better than you suggest.

When has Roy Hodgson's teams played "good" football? Maybe it was during one of the 7 away wins he orchastrated in the League during his 2 1/2 years in charge of Fulham.

We're one of the lowest scoreers in the league and we're conceeding goals.

We've been oytplayed at home by WBA & Sunderland.... not the usual they parked the bus and we couldn't score... but actually outplayed. We weren't so much as outplayed away from home by the 2 Manchester teams as torn apart.

Pointing to little 15 minuite spells of decent play here and there is not good enough.

I'm not rubbishing Rafa. He gave me my best clear memories as a fan ( I was to young in the 80's)

But after 6 years his style will be buried in the mindset of most of the players and no matter what style Roy has it will take time for the players to adjust from Rafa's to his.

Reina came out and said it as has Kuyt, Gerrard and Torres.

It just takes time and with the league as it is, we can still get right back in the mix with a decent run of wins. I'm not worries yet.

All true, however West brom scored 3 at Arsenal, Sunderland beat city.

City beat Chelsea and Utd outplay everyone at home.

It's not an ideal start by any means, but it takes time and we've had a horrid run of opening fixtures.

With the way things are now any team that can string 3/4 wins together on the bounce will find themselves in the top 4.

No need for panic stations just yet.

if you think of the first team/bench I would have thought it makes more sense to go on the offensive home and away. the days of drawning teams onto us and hit them on the break are well and truly over, I think our strength lies in our attack.

our defensive players - expected to defend
carra
skrtel
agger
konchesky
lucas
poulsen

our offensive players - expected to attack
gerrard
torres
cole
kuyt
jove
johnson
meireles
ngog
babel

we are playing a cautious game with a defensive that has sometimes been all over the place.
we looked much better when poulsen when off and concentrated on winning the game. we need that mentality from the start, I just don't think roy is the person to give the team the confidence to attack for 90 mins.
How can we attack when we have an average central midfield players covering an average defense?? ?? Johnson, Carra, Konchesky and Skrtel are all not solid at all. Carra's past it. Johnson's a suspect in defense just like the average Konchesky. Skrtel on the other hand are all over the fucking place. We need to tighten the defense now and slowly build up the confidence of other attacking players to attack.

Roy is clueless and don't fucking know how to choose his defenders. Agger MUST play and must play as a centre back. Carra is more confident with Agger next to him not Skrtel. Get Kelly in as right back. I'd say if Aurelio is fit enough to play, play him ahead of Konchesky.

Here's something for you to think about.

WBA have played Chelsea, us & Arsenal away & Sunderland, Birmingham & Spurs at home.

That's a tough run of games

They have 4 more points than us, have scored 2 more goals than us, but they have conceeded 2 goals more than us.

Unlike us, they beat Sunderland at home.

So... there's a bit of perspective for you.

No matter how it's spun we've made a dreadful start. Be it tough fixtures, new Manager, previous Manager's influence, financial problems etc etc, our team should be playing a lot better than they are.

The League table never lies, as they say; too much longer at that end of the table and fear really will take over.

For me, Roy Hodgson's request to judge him after 10 games should be honoured.

If we are still averaging a point a game after 10 games I think Kenny Dalglish should take over team affairs.

wow, if administration penalty kicks in. We'll be relagated with -3 points tally. I'm just saying...

liverpool finish 2nd, pat negative throughout the season
liverpool finish 7th, pat negative throughout the season

for fuck sake's pat, rescue us. predict doom again.
