Utd scrap a draw against Bolton.
Arsenal concede 3 and lose at home to relagation threatened Brom.
Chelsea lose at City.
Spurs lose at West ham.

Yet we draw against a very well organised Sunderland team that have already beaten City and suddenly Roy is the worst manager in the world and we are going ot finish in the bottom half?

FFS. Some of you on here are unbelivable.

A draw was disappointing yes, but its a long season and nobody bar Chelsea has indicidated they will definately occupy a top 4 spot this year.

Keep the faith!

It's not just about the results, we've been playing terrible football.
Hodgson hasn't got a plan B. He starts a game with a plan and then sticks to it until it ends.
Rafa frustrated me with his late substitutions but at least he made an effort to change things.

It pains me to see how we play. Sunderland upstaged us on our own ground. Man U played us off the park we got two lucky goals. Northampton beat our second string team that should be good enough to demolish them.
Our defence is fucking shambles. Carra is getting away with murder, on current form he shouldn't even be on the bench but fuck it he's Scouse. etc etc...

I kinda know how it feels to support Everton now.

I admit I wanted Rafa to leave but Hodgson wasn't my first choice.

Dreamy, we all want to agree with you, but the force of the dark side is stronger.

Not so young Roy Sleepwalker, isn't giving us reasons to be cheerful....

There's quite simply nothing positive he's producing. He needs to give us reasons to resist the darker side of the force...

When Hodgeson first went to Fulham they didn't improve right away and looked relagation certs.

Then his plans took shape and they turned into a very impressive outfit.

Much like what Bruce has done at Sunderland. They give every team a good test these days and drawing with them isn't as shameful as it may look.

Utd played well against us but they generally do at home.

Northampton was shambolic I agree but I put that more on the players. It was their chance to shine and they blew it.

Things are not good but F8ck me they are not that bad.

Agreed we need to produce results fast.

But I think its coming slowly.

Well said, people are being too harsh too early. Give Hodgson time

So you're saying give him another 5 years and we'll at least fight for top four place is it??

Can't agree more. It is not about the result, it is the way we play and do not see any improvement as yet.

Dreamy, have you watched how we've played mate? We're playing really poor footy ... Poor footy will usually bring poor results (as we've had).

In a weekend were Arsenal fucks up and United scrapes a draw we should be positive on not loosing ground on them from our "easy" home fixture? This was a perfect match to actually catch up some fucking points, not "not loose any more ground".

City, United and Chelsea will occupy three of them. Spurs and Arsenal the last place. Possibly Villa under Houllier?
?

We won't get Top 4.

Looking at us on Saturday I couldn't help but think how much like a mid table side we look. We're worryingly non creative going forwards and look suspect defensively. Despite our team possessing a fair amount of mediocrity we still also possess some top class talent - none of whom are playing to the best of their abilities. There's glimmers of better football here and there and it's all well and good saying Roy needs time to bed in but there's very little that is pointing to us being any better this season than last. Unless there's some drastic upturns in performance and fortunes, top four is highly unlikely - it's time people got a bit realistic.

Yeah. Although, I'm not saying things would be much better under Benitez, because it was pretty obvious last season we wouldn't be getting 4th place then either.

The only question now is would Kenny have done better ... Tbh, I dunno if anyone could ahve ... A lot of this falls on the players imo.

Well, of course. There were a *few* occasions last year when nobody could have argued with the team Benitez picked, but they still didn't perform, but again, can all of that be nothing to do with the manager/ tactics/ coaching?

if you think of the first team/bench I would have thought it makes more sense to go on the offensive home and away. the days of drawning teams onto us and hit them on the break are well and truly over, I think our strength lies in our attack.

our defensive players - expected to defend
carra
skrtel
agger
konchesky
lucas
poulsen

our offensive players - expected to attack
gerrard
torres
cole
kuyt
jove
johnson
meireles
ngog
babel

we are playing a cautious game with a defensive that has sometimes been all over the place.
we looked much better when poulsen when off and concentrated on winning the game. we need that mentality from the start, I just don't think roy is the person to give the team the confidence to attack for 90 mins.

Sunderland haven't scored at Anfield in TEN YEARS, and got 2 on Saturday!

We luckily scraped a draw after being outplayed at ANFIELD by one of the teams we are supposed to annihilate, but because the top teams lost and united drew, lets all be happy.

Head in the Sand or fucking what??

There was me thinking that only Rafa was the polariser of opinion on here.

Maybe not, but I didn't really see any point in swapping Benitez for Hodgson unless we had new owners. Unless it was to retain Torres and Gerrard. For which time would appear limited unless we can remove the two cancers (owners that is)

We need a complete mindset change. Fuck fear of losing off, get rid of the worlds is against us bollocks and just get the bit between our teeth and go for it. Really, what have we possibly got to lose ?

Damn straight. It's a shame we don't have a manager that can fire the team up and embed that kind of mentality though, huh?

So, nobody else has bothered to point out the irony here?

I don't get the thinking.

the out and out holding midfielders are poulsen and lucas
the left back is konchesky
the right back is johnson
the center backs are an aging carra, a positionally suspect skrtel and a weak agger

why on this green earth would you invite pressure?
