I'm the worst type of fan. I'm only renewing my tickets so I can give them to people I do business with, so they give me more business. I don't give a fuck anymore. I like watching good quality football but LFC, or what I thought LFC was, either died or never existed.

I have no opinion either way, I have seen very little of his team. what I will say is if he is hired I am not going to turn on him before giving him a chance like I did with roy.

My mate Andy is a Southampton fan and has followed them his whole life, from premier league and fa cup finals to league one and the brink of administration. He always buys his season ticket.
If I was interviewing a possible manager the main thing I'd want to see is an ability to learn from mistakes, a demonstrated and verifiable record of changing things that aren't working early on before gets too bad/late to fix and ideally a background of managing several different clubs.
As such, the manager doesn't have to have been successful. In fact, it would be better, as far as I'm concerned if he's had to deal with failure and adversity.
So AVB is a big fat NO FUCKING WAY for the time being. He seems to have gone to Porto and made a good thing better, he seems to have enjoyed the full cooperation of the players and so on. I think he's probably a very talented coach and may well end up being a good manager one day. That day may be tomorrow but there's no evidence to suggest this. What happened at Chelsea can't be ignored. I know Liverpool fans like to think that Chelsea players are much harder to manage than our own lovely lads but that's plain bollocks. If anything, one the pitch, the Chelsea players have over the last five years shown themselves to be more professional, flexible and competent than Liverpool players. He also had a fuckload of wonga to spend and he totally fucked it up. Why? Because he thought that HE was the reason that Porto won everything the year before and he was wrong - and too young, inexperienced and immodest to see that. I still don't think he sees it and I think he'd be better off taking over a smaller club and continuing his study of the game.
