Have to say notwithstanding yesterdays balls up I am really positive about this game especially having looked at the prospective teams. They look as if they could be on a bigger slide than us - I think 2 or 3 - 1 whaddjathink

Refuse to make predictions, I think it'll be a tough game but if put them on the back foot early, who knows? I'd be tempted to play a settled lineup to start the game. Could be risky throwing Sahin and Assman in.

Rodgers threw in Sterling and Coates against City so I think he's got some steel balls on him and might just throw in Assaidi and Sahin. If they're big players, they'll cope. And if they can cope, we'll then know we've got a pair of winners. I'm looking forward to this game; just hope we don't pick up any injuries.

-------------Reina

Johnson---Skrtel--Agger--Enrique

----------Allen----------Sahin

----------------Gerrard

-----Sterling--Borini--Suarez

I think that team is capable of beating Arsenal.

Assaidi for Sterling and Downing for Borini in the second half, moving Suarez inside if its not working.

Just try it Rodgers you Don Lino looking motherfucker!!!

Swap Suarez and Sterling, and that's my line-up. Assaidi for Sterling if Rodgers wants to rest Sterling after 2 games in a week, and use him off the bench.

That's the team I think we'll see. Most likely to be Suarez down the middle though. Is Enrique going to be fit to start or could we see either Johnson/Downing on the left with Kelly on the right/?

Defender Daniel Agger has completed a one-game ban, and is likely to return in place of Sebastian Coates.
Arsenal will assess goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who missed the draw at Stoke with a rib injury.
Laurent Koscielny returns after a calf problem, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is pushing for a start.

I really fancy us against their fullbacks, last match they had Gibbs and Jenkinson from what I remember, you'd have to say Sterling and Suarez/Borini could give them real problems. If Koscielny is back they may move one of their centerbacks to play fullback and bring Santos in, but still it seems a real weak point for them at the moment.
If Szczesny is still unfit thats another bonus. Not sure about the defence but the rest of their side should be something like:

------------------ Giroud -------------------------
Podolski ---- Cazorla ---- Chamberlain/Gervinho
----------- Arteta ------ Diaby -----------------

We can take that team, our centre mids should dominate their 3 at home. Songs a big miss imo for them in matches like this.

Allen marking of Cazorla is going to be key..

I'd expect Johnson/Enrique to play quite high up the pitch looking to put the Arsenal full backs under pressure which could leave gaps for Podolski/Walcott/Chamberlain/whoever is playing wide to get in

Yea Cazorla has looked pretty good, he's important to them. I'm of the opinion Allen can handle him, they're of similar stature and I reckon Allen will be able to stay close enough to him when Arsenal are in possession to stop the clever balls.

I totally forgot about Walcott, he's been a thorn in our side before. Sterling might be a cert to be involved as one of the few who can match his pace tracking back if the fullback does get caught up the pitch.

If Enrique isn't fit I'd be inclined to put Downing at LB again. I thought he did really well the other night and I'd much rather see Johnson ahead of Kelly at RB currently.

Arsenal have looked pretty decent defensively so far. You feel either them or us will gel in attack tomorrow and score a couple of goals.

Hopefully its us and Sahin plays a blinder.

Heading over for this one 😀 Be a tough game, Arsenal like ourselves are an unpredictable - Great one week, shit the next so god knows what to expect.

Need to keep Cazorla quiet, he's a top player.

The big thing on my mind is the brunch. I don't know what they'll serve at midday. I'm hoping it's a cooked breakfast based menu with some tapas as an alternative.

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Downing/Enrique
Gerrard Allen Sahin
Borini Suarez Assaidi

It'll be another 2-2 draw i think

(Prior to today's matches)
Arsenal have allowed the joint-fewest shots on target against them this season along with Sunderland, who have played just one game

Liverpool have won just one of their last ten Premier League games against Arsenal (W1 D6 L3)

Only Arsenal (19%) have a worse shooting accuracy than Liverpool in the Premier League this season (24%)

Shelvey or Sahin to start? Hope it's Sahin but i reckon Rodgers will bring him on from the bench. Shelvey did well against City tbf.

Sahin, Allen and Gerrard I reckon. Like to see Assaidi as well

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sterling start as he was rested for most of the game on Thursday.
Wouldn't be surprised if there are one or two, eh, surprises.

Even though Allen may be better, the difference is Carzola has a bunch of clever, quick players around him who all have decent control. So he's going to look like he's on another level compared to Allen. I can't see us playing well tomorrow.

I think we'll win this in the middle. Our midfield will dominate theirs.

Suarez winner, 1-0.
