I'd revert to 4 at the back, but I'm not sure we will:

--------------------Ming---------------------
Clyne------Skrtel-----Sakho----Moreno
-------------------Lucas--------------------
-----------Can------------Milner-----------
----Ings------------------------Coutinho--
------------------Sturridge-----------------

Clyne is stiffled in a wingback system while Deulofeu would have a field day getting behind Moreno and putting great crosses in at will. They will burst from deep all the time, which is our undoing, with players like Barkley, Delofeu, Lennon, Lukaku, Kone, they have alot of pacy options on the break, depending on who plays.

We play a diamond and we're open to them hitting us down the flanks, we play three at the back and they will get in behind the wingbacks. We need to get a foothold in midfield, which is unlikely with the likes of Lucas and Can.

I am not sure if the defence would be more uncrrtain with Ming or with presence of new goalie. However I think i would gamble on change.

More important than formation is mentality in that game. We're so easily bullied I fear any set-up could collapse pretty quickly.

I don't think it really matters what team or formation we put out, the only way we'll win is through a moment of brilliance from Sturridge or Coutinho. I'd like to see Rossiter play though.

We have to play 4 at the back, we will be over-run otherwise. I would also bring in Allen because although he was just as crap as the rest of the wasters last night, he has more idea about playing in midfield than Can at the moment. The 3 at the back just seems to be set up to shoehorn Can into the side rather than having a solid, consistent formation. I would have dropped Mignolet weeks ago and he has gone full regress into the timid, mistake-ridden, mentally-shot player from a year ago. He may as well have jumped out of the way of the striker's scuffed effort on goal last night but opted to leave a fucking huge gap between his legs instead with his arms up in the air, terrible goalkeeping.

-----------------------------------Bogdan--------------------------

Clyne------------Skrtel.....................Sakho..............Moreno

------------------Allen----------Lucas----------Milner-------

--------------------------------Coutinho-------------------------

----------------Ings
-----------Sturridge-------------------------

It's far from good because there's no pace or width in the midfield but at least it has some balance with players in their right positions and we can try to plug up the middle and be competitive.

The main problem is Rodgers has lost them. There is no belief on the pitch that the 'system' (whichever one the genius has settled on for this match) will work, whatever the players do. We could win if they have an off day in front of goal and one of Coutinho or Sturridge comes up with a bit of magic. The confidence of everyone, from manager through the team and right through the fans is shot.

Trying to look on the bright side, apparently both Stones and Coleman are injury doubts. How much difference it will make if they're out is another matter.

Not sure what the formation will be but please ensure that Skrtel, Sakho, Clyne, Milner, Coutinho, Sturride and Ings play. I want those 7 on the pitch anyway.

I'd also play Allen.

Never EVER should we have a midfield 3 of allen, lucas and milner. Thats just waving the white flag before the game has even started.

Why are people wanting Allen to play, I watched. The first half yesterday and he was utter shite, couldn't pass and was knocked off the ball with ease...he offers nothing.

I'd rather have Can, at least he tries to do something other that pass backwards or sideways or fall over.

He got better as the game went on, he's been out more or less since pre-season. He's still shite though.

Anyways, I'm not really sure it matters who plays. The defence looks shakey as fuck and leaks goals regardless of who starts and I've not seen a convincing midfield performance for a long time.

We tend to rely on individual brilliance to win us games, which sadly has been in short supply in recent times. Hopefully the return of Sturridge will change that.

So...

X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, Coutinho, Sturridge

Pick the names out of a hat for the rest as far as I'm concerned.
