However, he'd just be a replacement for N'gog at this stage and I'm not convinced. That's why we should just get as much cash as possible rather than take their castoffs. Plus, if Torres goes there, this lad would slip further down the pecking order, so we'd be doing them a favour by taking him.

We need to make sure we get a player who will complement Suarez. Who that is though I am not sure

Coz he's better than sturridge and i dont think we'd get anyone else of them, anyone asking or essien or mikel on top of 60 mil is having a laugh!. Plus he can play wide, scores more goals than maxi and is faster than him!.
A lot of its got to do with the timing too! Because unless Suarez starts banging them in straight away we've effectively weakened ourselves because he may need time to settle! Just my 2 cents!

Kalou isn't garbage. He's no galactico but he works hard and chips in quite often with a goal when they play him.

I do agree about Obi Mikel though. I actually have some sympathy for the guy, because he was an AM when they bought him but they've insisted on trying to turn him into a DM - which he ain't, not a good one anyway - because he's built like a brick wotsit, and in the process they've ruined the ability he did have as a young player (the Mancs were hopping mad when he jilted them).

Essien is a cnut but unquestionably a very good player. If (and only if) he came as part of the deal I'd be willing to contemplate taking under £50 mill.for Torres.
