I would rather have Anelka too. He has been forced into a partnership that does not really work with Drogba. He would be better with someone like Suarez, he would be a good stop gap for the remainder of the season, and would be a good third striker when we get another top class one with the money.
To me Suarez and Anelka , looks a better option than Torres and N'gog or Dirk

yes, anelka would be fine for me too, for those reasons. i wouldn't want him valued at more than £5m though, given that he's 32 in a month.

+1

If Sturridge is willing to accept 45k base with lots of performance bonus, i wouldn't really mind.

He showed a lot of talent and promise at some point in career, and sadly he has wasted it all away because he was greedy.

It all depends on how much desire he has to actually play football, and the litmus test for that is how much of a pay cut he is willing to take to correct the shitty career decisions he has taken so far.

He is a no body! 70k+ plus for him will be the biggest joke i ever heard.

Thing is though, he's been there a year on fat wages, yet he wants to leave to play football. Straight away it's not bad attitude

I'd have him over Anelka as part of the Torres deal. Anelka is beginning a sharp decline in his career that I doubt he will ever pull out of. This guy definitely has more to him than N'Gog, is very skilful technically and is easily a better player/ prospect. I agree that if he comes, he comes on a reduced wage. If he is prepared to do that to advance his career then he's got the right attitude too.

How funny would it be if we took their cash and Anelka/Srurridge (even better - both!) and then used some of that money on David Luiz?

I don't know much about Luiz, but the thought of them giving us money to hijack their purchase seems quite pleasing.

We're not going to spend £30m on a CB.

Well, I know. Just saying it'll be funny if that happened though.

Agreed, brother Vlad

I would prefer Anelka, and I doubt veer much that Sturridge would get the playing time he probably thinks he somehow deserves......

Neither are really suitable, we need to buy players who could still be here in 5 years time (and still be good)

We had a squad full of "nice guys" and half are shit, half want to leave / have left.

Sturridge has talent and I wouldn't mind taking him. I don't give a fuck how much of a cunt he is / was.

We've just signed a guy that bites people and punches the ball off the line to win. More of that please.

Yes. I'd consider 45m and Sturridge. How many yoofs wouldn't have their heads turned by a £70,000 a week contract after being on a relative pittance?

I don't understand where this "Sturridge is shit" thing is coming from.

He may be a cocky young prick but he's not rubbish.

'It was a surprise when I first heard about the move on Sunday night,' added Sturridge.

'But I’m an ambitious guy and I’m happy I’m here because the most important thing for me is to start playing regular first team football.

'It was said that Chelsea were offering me to Liverpool but that wasn’t the case. Chelsea told me from day one that I wasn’t going to be involved in any deal with Torres.

'When people were putting my name as part of the deal I was quite surprised.'

Hey I said that I'd take Sturridge before Anelka in the Torres deal....

4 goals in 4 games. Surely he's not going to settle for a sub role again next season? Doubt he'll make the breakthrough like Wilshere after his Bolton loan stint though.

He's been very good everytime Ive seen him. He hasn't played alot but I wouldn't have complained if we got him in the Torres deal.

Yeah, I'll eat a bit of humble pie about this one. He's been very good. A twat though, but the talent is obviously there.

As I've said from day one (ie, him coming to city and me watching him from behind the walls on platt lane) he is a massive talent with a wonderful left foot albeit a massive ego inflated cunt.

He's always had talent; glad to see he had the brains to get out of Chelsea for a while.
