Mikel is a perfectly good DM. About a thousand times better than Poulsen, Lucas and Spearing anyway.
Essien is obviously the greater talent, but his age and his injury record are not in his favour.

when he plays he tends to score goals. He just doesn't play that often, which is somehting i don't understand when anelka has been criminally out of form for a while now

I think he has a lot of potential, but there's plenty of alarm bells going off in my head.
seeing as this is a bit of a 'name a chelsea player' thread, what about that ivanovic geezer? good player, versatile, strong in the air, plugs a gap we need filling, and i can imagine them letting him go.
£40m + him and i'd be tempted.

I don't know much about Sturridge other than the fact City tried pretty hard to keep him and did rate him very highly.
It took a huge contract offer to get him to chelsea.

I would rather have Anelka too. He has been forced into a partnership that does not really work with Drogba. He would be better with someone like Suarez, he would be a good stop gap for the remainder of the season, and would be a good third striker when we get another top class one with the money.
To me Suarez and Anelka , looks a better option than Torres and N'gog or Dirk
