OK I thought this deserved it's own thread since it is not restricted it to Kenneth Huang.

NEWS ON BBC

I've just seen this on the BBC World Service.

There are SIX serious bids and Kenneth Huang's is just one of them. Decision by end of next week on which one to proceed with. Club is valued at 550M.

Whoooo Hooooo !!!

Now that is more like it.

Let's not leave it until the last day of the window like city did please.

We don't want the window to 'slam shut' (copyright sky sports news twats) before were ready!

Ok time to fess up. I sent in a prank mail. I hope they did not include that as one of the serious bids. I have not got the money.

I don't know how serious you're being, SG, as you're not normally the overexcitable type, but this has to be a properly considered, long-term decision. If the club is sold after the end of the transfer window, it'd be slightly frustrating. But ultimately it wouldn't matter. This is about getting rid of our debt. It's about getting - we all hope - owners who do not lie to us and who can genuinely afford to invest in the club and build a new stadium. If it means waiting an extra two weeks or two months or whatever in order to make sure any new owners are 'fit and proper', then we should do it. The last thing we want or need is a panic sell, just so we can panic-buy.

This is cheering news. Even if it is about the gazillionth times we've read it.

I agree really bunny, I'm just impatient 🙂

I know, sorry, I sounded like a RAWKite there.

City were taken over years ago but they're still panic buying. Buy ! Buy everyone ! Now !

It's been a painfully long and hard road. I do hope the lads tasked with the sale get us what we've been waiting for.

Chinese billionaire Kenneth Huang made an offer to Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc to buy Liverpool soccer club’s debt of 237 million pounds ($373.5 million), the Daily Telegraph reported.

In an effort to delay the bank accepting Huang’s offer, Liverpool co-owner George Gillett has presented Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi as a possible bidder for the club, the newspaper said.

Gillett told RBS last week that he was in advanced negotiations with Kirdi after Huang began talks over a deal that would see Gillett and co-owner Tom Hicks exit the club without any profit, the Telegraph added.

The short arsed old piece of shite.

Huang isn't a billionaire so I'd question the rest of that article too
[/quote]

Indeed. If true, I wonder what Broughton thinks of Hardy getting involved with potential buyers and the bank.

I'm not convinced anything will get much better if this happens...

If there are this many bids then I doubt the Chinese will be successful with all these leaks to the press and an ultimatum.

I still haven't figured out how six bids have materialised since Broughton said there were none about a week ago.

Maybe he wanted to keep things quiet? Hardly surprising if that's the case.

I wonder who the bidders are? The Sheik making a return?

I thought he was on his arse.

Indeed. Sounds to me like Billy bullshit from GnH to fend off a hostile takeover. Either way whether this Huang fella succeeds or not let's hope he can agitate the end of GnHs tenure.
