He's still got a superb passing range and great touch, also love him recreating the Istanbul dive at the end there!

Compared to the usual ramshackle friendly/exhibition matches I really liked the mix we had yesterday, at least in the first half - a couple of recently retired pros who can still keep up with the pace (ish), a couple of up and coming kids, and the core of the current first team. It makes for a good spectacle, and there's even a chance that some of the current players might benefit in a tiny way from mixing with a couple of well-regarded stars from the recent past. Next year we cold have Kuyt and Xabi. Not bad.

Including McManaman was a mistake, though, he looked absolutely shattered, and even though he was playing for us again he still wouldn't refer to LFC as 'us' or 'we' after the game, the bluenosed bleep.

What was the point of flying him with the team anyway?
Do Aussies still like him?
Do any red fans still like him.
For me the love affair ended the day he left for Real Madrid. Same applies to Owen.

Nah not for me. I love seeing him play in the red shirt. It clear he's still class. A role model and if he only plays in these sort matches and still looks the best player on the pitch he an inspiration to all young players. Win Win.

Role model? You're having a giraffe, mate. Ringleader of the Spice Boys, downed tools for fully the last eighteen months of his LFC playing contract and stiffed the club out of a transfer fee when he left, for entirely bogus and self-serving reasons. I wouldn't pee on the waster if he were ablaze.

He might have been talking about Gerrard. Hopefully.

He still gave us his peak years... and he was a class player.... his leaving of Liverpool did grieve me but to be fair to him going to join the galacticos must have been tempting.

Unlike Torres and Owen of course he wasn't injured beyond recovery but he still gave very good service to the club.

All three of those players broke my heart but at the same time all of them also gave me some very very happy days...
