IAN Holloway has admitted ‘too much talking’ was the reason Pool failed to secure Jonjo Shelvey on loan.
The manager hinted Liverpool weren’t happy about Shelvey’s name being mentioned so often and that was the reason the frontman wasn’t allowed back to Bloomfield Road.
Holloway would have loved to have added the 20-year-old to his squad ahead of last Thursday’s loan deadline.
Asked if he had been disappointed to miss out on Shelvey, Holloway responded: “Forget Jonjo Shelvey. I don’t want to talk about him.
“The reason we haven’t got him is because we were talking about him for months and he was somebody else’s player.
“He is on the bench for Liverpool at the moment and they bought him for a lot of money, so well done to them.”
