He is being linked with a move to Newcastle for that amount.

It seems pretty reasonable, is there a reason why we shouldnt be interested ?

Cos he's not good enough.

Watched him this weekend & he had one of his all too frequent poor games, which reminded me exactly why we sold him.

He's one of those players who on his day looks like he'd be perfect but all too often he doesn't play anywhere near that well.

He's talented and can pick a pass but is a real hothead and the times I've see him, he often seems to be flirting with a straight red card. I liked him when he was here. I thought that with a few more seasons under his belt, he'd have matured and grown out of that playing-with-a-chip-on-his-shoulder attitude but it doesn't look like he has.

From the Swansea squad, I think Ki and Montero are the more interesting ones. Ki always strikes me as a composed player with good ability to pick a pass although he's not blessed with pace, while Montero's burst of speed and tricky feet I like.

That is bizarre. Did he have an instantaneous and short lived injury?

I reckon, given they were 3-2 down with minutes to go, he was happy to let the player drift past in hope he'd be ahead of their midfield should a quick break develop. Sort of happy to risk a 4-2 if there's a chance of outnumbering Oxford on the break and drawing level.

Or he's still a lazy cunt.

With his eating and drinking habits, Newcastle is surely one of the worst places to go. He only coped in Swansea by staying inside his house and hiring a chef and dietician to keep him on the straight and narrow, and even that didn't last long.

Dont think hes professional enough, liked him when he played for us and I wish him well but hes not going to improve us and would just be another frustrating waste of money

Some saying we have a 30% sell on clause.
Will be interesting to see if its confirmed.

I iked Shelvey when he played for us, he always wanted to play the ball forward and take risks, he had a decent passing range, and he'd score the occasional beauty too.

But the lack of discipline and rash decision-making, allied with his poor conditioning and fitness, were always going to make it harder for him.

If he had the mentality, discipline, training ethic and willingness to work of someone like, say, Frank Lampard, with whom he shares some similarities, he'd be an England regular
