I think there was an agreement with the FA / Hodgson to rest the selected England players once the season was done so it was always going to be a squad with fringe players and youngsters.

One of the more promising young players. Used to be a midfielder/link man but showed enough of an eye for goal to be pushed forward last season and he's now usually deployed as a forward. He's nothing that makes you think he's going to be a star but I've always quite liked him and he does have a knack of getting goals.
