Salah.

Again, Suarez was phenomenal. But if you think Salah wouldn’t have thrived with Sterling and a peak Sturridge next to him, with Coutinho and Gerrard feeding him on the counter, I don’t know what to say.
I didn't say that, I said he wouldn't perform to the same level Suarez did in that team, and he wouldn't have.

Suarez was Salah & Mane combined.
And then some. Suarez was fucking epic. I love Salah but Suarez was just next level. The goals he would score was ridiculous. Inside/outside the box, with his head, free kicks and the most ridiculous work rate i've ever seen. He was the most complete player i've ever seen live.

The way Real are going this season we had better brace ourselves for their usual cunt's tricks over the summer. That they'll be sniffing around, unsettling him and using their existing players to tap him up is a given.

For me, I think that one of the most important attributes he brings (besides the goals) is the Suarez-esque desire to win. He is a catalyst that sparks work-rate and belief in other players. Every single time we attack with both of those players, you can see that we have a belief that it is our right to score a goal.
Salah and Suarez are different types of player. I agree that Suarez edges it for me (for now) just because of the variety of his goals and that fucking laser beam header from outside of the area (against West Brom I think), but Salah in his current form, in the now, is among the very best players in the world in his position - if not the best.

Salah doesn't have that ultimate mentalist desire that causes Suarez to eat people and Costa or Drogba to shithouse the game to death in order to win, he's just fucking ace. There's no comparison of style of play or the way they go about their business that makes sense. Suarez was the best player I've ever seen play for us, but then again he got banned a lot for getting himself in stupid situations and I didn't like his diving all the time, so you never know, Salah may prove more effective. He's definitely, unarguably, having a better first season. Imagine he... is it possible... improves at the same rate Suarez did. Then he really would be up there with the best players of all time.

For now, he's just fucking brilliant.

His first goal last night, everyone's raving about the touch, the dribble, and the cool-finish - and rightly so. It was hilariously good.

Watch his little anticipatory movement though when Milner shoots. You see it better on the 2nd replay. Positioned on the wrong side of the defender, he makes the first move. Gets in front in case something happens. The chances of something coming his way are extremely low, but he still puts himself in the right space just in case, and it breaks to him. Michael Owen had that too. Darting move, something drops, lights out. You might make that move 500 times a year, and only get a handful of goals out of it - but that's still a handful that most other players don't get.

It's how you get 30 goals by February. Yes he can finish, but his instinctive movement around goal is fucking wonderful.

He's 25. If we get this and another 2 or 3 seasons out of him we will get back to the top - other great players will want to come because of him, he's that good.

But... they all leave don't they? If we can just get this one to stay...

Suarez best season in a red shirt he scored 31 goals, Salah is already on 30 with potentially another 14 games to go. The idea that Suarez was on another level simply doesnt stack up considering Salah is on course to eclipse everything Suarez did in just his first season at the club.

If you base everything Suarez did purely on goals scored that is.

As opposed to what, number of games he was banned for, number of trophies he won, number of times he tried to join Arsenal?

Or maybe the number of times he single handedly carried the team. Created something from nothing etc etc. We could go on forever, but the comparison on goals alone is missing the point with regards to Suarez.

Because of his goal tally this season it’s going to “eclipse everything” Suarez did?

Winning the CL this year is key.

Then the league next year and another good run in Europe.

Yeah, Suarez also managed to divide the footballing world and make the FA hate us. I can't see Salah attaining such heights.

I wonder what will happen if we’re drawn against an Israeli team in the CL at some point. There would be huge pressure on him in Egypt not to shake anybody’s hands. That’s the only potential controversy I can see with Salah.

This is extremely petty of me, but I love everything about Salah's goal except the initial celebration. That just turning round while standing up straight moment reminded me of Cuntona, and that made me a little sick inside.
Like I said ... petty.

So both Salah and Firmino have a Cantona impression as celebration..? not good.

I actually think he wasn't sure if he was going to be flagged offside hence the moments pause before celebrating.

Doesn't bother me TBH. The only LFC player celebration that's ever got to me was Heskey's DJ bit, which was OK to begin with but which I eventually found irritating.

Haha. I loved that because it was so random.
I remember I was afraid Robbie Keane was going to do that fucking cartwheel he used to do at Spurs all the time but thankfully, I think he never did that in his brief stint here.

The only celebration I really hated was when one of our shit players, after months of being completely useless, scored once and gave the "shh" finger to the fans. Can't remember who it was though, maybe Voronin?

Grujic celebrating a pre-season goal like he's in a CL final was retarded too but he was about 18, so whatever
