Rugby World Cup 2015

Game over.
31-10.
Mistakes were always going to cost Japan.
They were never going to be able replicate Saturdays perfect performance.

Just seen that burgess has been named to start. I'm hoping this is far too early for him and he's going to prove to be a huge liability

I do think he has all the attributes to be a top player though. Not convinced that him and barritt is a good mix mind

Neither am I. It's been suggested today that Joseph might be out of the tournament altogether and that would be a blow for us IMO. I'll bet you're all broken up about it for a start.

Really not sure about it tbh mate simply because burgess is such an unknown quality. I'm still of the thinking though that we'll struggle to get out of the group. Losing Davies, Webb and halfpenny is bad enough, but we've just lost the cornerstone of our front row as well.

NOT CONFIDENT AT ALL

No, that's a pretty shitty run of injuries, but you still have a chance

What does Tipuric have to do to get a game?

I think the bookies are being slightly tight by offering us at 3/1 personally mate. In particular I'm worried about the front row and also the lack of quality we've got on the bench.

Justin is a very good player who has an excellent skill set, but we both know the key two reasons why he doesn't start much.

1. He's unfortunate to be behind a better all round seven.

2. I know you disagree with this, but gatland is huge on physicality and this is one weakness to his game.

He's also a great player to bring on from the bench when opponents and defences are tiring (3rd one for free)

You've seen more of him than I have, but I'd have said his skill set was better than Warburton's. It's got to be the physicality aspect that swings it.

I see he got rid of the super physical Hibbard though!

If you come close to parity at the scrum and breakdown I can see you nicking it. You're capable of upsetting their line-out and I think your centres could cause all sorts of problems for a new England midfield of Farell Burgess and Barrett.

They might be physical in the middle but that only matters if they read the game and work well together.

Time catches up with us all rosco. With him playing in England and the new breed coming through, he unfortunately missed out

So, latest thoughts on the big match today?

I fancy Samoa to push South Africa pretty hard in the first half, but to get well beaten in the end.

Agree with that last post. Not so sure about the "Wales underdogs" bit and IMO if they are, it isn't by much. You're worried about your front row, but I was worried about ours before the tournament even kicked off (we're just not as well served there as we've been for the past few World Cups) and we've yet to see whether the new midfield combo will work (I can see the thinking behind it but Joseph will be a big, big miss from the centre for us).

England to win, but I reckon the margin will be smaller than 15 points. My money would be on 10 or thereabouts.

Wales are underdogs and rightly so but at 3/1 I'm very tempted to back them
Yeah, there is huge pressure on England in this game. They seemed to suffer a bit of performance anxiety against Fiji. They'll not get away with that tonight.

Right, I'm away to watch England versus the Sheepshafters, and I'm going to put Old Faithful through its paces to see if its skills are transferable to the England rugby team. 😎

I don't think you should abuse Old Faithful JJ.

It's still close, but you kinda get the sense England have another gear. Whereas this is everything Wales have at the moment

When England got that try Wales were looking a bit beaten. They ended the second half brightly but i agree with what you said about England having another gear.
