Rugby World Cup 2015

Oh and despite saying 3/1 was a great price, I never bothered going to the bookies.

The bookies that I can see out the window of the apartment, 20 yards away.
Or on your smartphone?

Well played Wales. Gutsy performance. Didn't give them a prayer when they were 10 behind. Oh well back to following football again ;-)

Not sure which one he was mate, but both Fijians were good in the loose (and the scrum was impressive), but their linocut was ropey. Sorry JJ, wasn't able to watch much with my hands in front of my eyes.

12-10 so far, if Georgia can stay close until half time I'll be amazed but they've shown the All Blacks aren't invincible

Is there any reason why Australia are not favourites for this game?
Can't understand the prices.
Australia at 5-4 looks massive.
Suppose it's the home advantage and last chance saloon factors that the bookies have England favourites.

J.P.Pietersen was a lucky fella to get away with a spear tackle in the Scotland game just now. A penalty was awarded, but Nigel Owens gave him the benefit of the doubt in terms of a card when I didn't think there really was any "doubt". Pietersen admittedly isn't that kind of player but I wasn't aware that the rules gave any scope for making such allowances.

Smashing start. Both sides have shown signs of danger going forward

Folau is such a beautiful athlete. Incredible to watch.

Mike Brown has made two mistakes which have cost his team points each time. The knock on, and that catch with foot in touch. Not like him at all.

Again, after spotting an overpriced team I didn't bother backing them.

I still wouldn't have expected 14 points to be the gap at half time. England haven't played well, but they'll surely be setter in the second half.

It looks like the Aussie tight head is breaking the bind between Marler and Youngs at every scrum - and that's why Marler ends up sideways all the time. Youngs will be sore tomorrow if someone doesn't give him relief there.

That second try was a thing of beauty - it looked like it was a planned move but the pass to Beale, the line he took and then the pass back was done so well I don't know how anyone could defend it.

I think Poite is a horrible ref too but he's been okay so far - although Hooper probably deserved yellow for trying to.take out Brown.

@Rosco can the ref spot when a team deliberately wheels the scrum? I find it hard to believe that they can.

Yeah, typically the team with the put in will want to wheel it so that the number 8 ends up out to the right - away from their scrum half and you've got the flanker e a further yard away than usual.

The team without wants to swing it the other way so their defence is closer to the ball. And their nine is all over the 8 & 9.

So if you bear that in mind, it's not difficult to spot, if you want to swing to the left the tight head steps backwards or sideways as everyone else pushes.

Who to blame for a scrum going down is much more difficult at times

I see. They generally don't explain this stuff. I need a guide.

Do you reckon prince Harry supports England while his brother supports Wales because Charles isn't his da?

Yeah Phipps butchered a few passes there to give England some momentum.

Tight finish on the way. The subs have helped England - although Tom Youngs was their best player for the hour

True. I presume they just think the general public have no need or interest to know the mechanics of it.
It's those details that make the game more interesting. Well I think so anyway.
