Albert Riera opened the door to his departure from Liverpool after being avocado to the substitution in Liverpool in recent days. Spanish midfielder acknowledged he had offers from two Russian teams and noted that he's thinking about leaving the club 'red' for the forthcoming World Cup. "Right now the only market that is open is Russian, I have offers from two teams and that, given my situation, it made me think a lot."

The footballer said Nadal, on "The Intermediate" Radio MARCA, which has no relationship with Benitez and pointed to possible personal issues as the cause of substitution."When the coach tells you nothing and you are well, without physical problems, and training well, you is not nothing but think it is due to something personal."

Haha.

Albert Riera has indicated that he wants to leave Liverpool after revealing that his relationship with Rafael Benítez has deteriorated to the point where he thinks the manager has something against him.

In an outspoken attack on Benítez, Riera said the manager "turns a deaf ear" to his players and described Liverpool as a "sinking ship". He also questioned whether his fellow Spaniard was suited to the Real Madrid job because his style of football is not attractive enough.

Riera has played only twice for Liverpool since the end of January, making one start and one substitute's appearance in the Europa League, and the midfielder is giving serious consideration to asking for a transfer in an effort to earn a place in Spain's World Cup squad.

"When the coach doesn't say anything to you and you are in good shape with no physical problems and training well, you have no choice but to think [the fact you are not playing] is personal," Riera said. "The team's playing badly and needs changes. If I'm doing something badly and you're my boss and you trust in me, then you would tell me what I am doing wrong and what I have to do to play. [The fact that Benítez has not said anything] is what most hurts.

"Right now the only market open is the Russian one. I have offers from two clubs and, given my situation, that has made me reflect a lot ... My objective is to go to the World Cup and for that to happen I have to play."

Riera said he was not alone in having communication problems with Benítez. "He thinks he is in charge and he just turns a deaf ear to everyone else," he told Radio Marca in Spain. "The dialogue with the players is practically non-existent. There is a lack of tact."

Asked about Benítez's credentials for Madrid, where Manuel Pellegrini is not expected to be in charge next season, Riera said: "At Madrid they ask you to win and play lovely football. We are effective, sure, but we don't play brilliant football."

He is in charge, you niblet !

Riera has a history of being a bitch, apparently, which isn't unique to him. Strangely he has been kept out, at various times this season (sometimes undeservedly) by someone who has also been a bitch in the press, more frequently, and who has played multiple games this season which require no words of explanation as to why they were shit either.

He probably thinks that Rafa has something against him, because Rafa does have something against him. Rafa is well capable of freezing players out who he used to favour, and of course you can make an argument that it's justified, because none of these players had such overwhelming quality that no argument could be made to the contrary.

Rafa's just as gobby to the press about his bosses as Riera is.

Babel made similar comments a few months ago, and he's back in so you never know.

what did he say? as far as I recall he had a moan about his chances (which he said was a bad translation) didn't comment on the manager or the club, which, let's face it is suicide.

Basically proves what us Rafa doubters have thought all along.

He's a stubborn, ignorant fool.

it's not a massive shock is it. Rafa's player treatment is/was and always will be fucking dreadful.
He's an emotionless husk.
Just one of the reasons I deplore him.
Hopefully we won't have to put up with this shit much longer.

This is what Riera said just a month ago:

He added in LFC Weekly: 'For me, if the club offered a five, six or seven-year contract right now, I'd sign it with my eyes closed.

Where else is there to go? Being anywhere else would be a step down. I have everything I need in Liverpool"

'He thinks he is in charge'

poor the riera

'He thinks he's in charge'

You can read that two ways.

1) Riera is deluded and unaware that as the manager for Liverpool FC Rafa calls the shots especially now that he has control over transfers.

2)Riera know's Rafa is not in charge, he's being undermined by certain players or the fact that Purslow needs to make calls regarding the financial future of the club that will result in changes on the field (transfers).

Personally, I reckon it's number 2. Rafa thinks he's in charge but the players collectively feel the same as Riera and want a change. And if it comes to the crunch the owners won't have an option but to step in and sell players if the financial future of the club is uncertain.

Or it could prove that people who want to judge Rafa on a disgruntled player 's comments who is out of the team, comments which on the eve of two pivotal upcoming games serves to undermine the team, are the 'stubborn ignorant fools'.

i hadn't forgotten. it's all a bit odd.

Hasn't Riera got somekind of history in this department?

You know, acting like a bit of a tit whenever things aren't going his way?

He's just having a hissy fit because he's lost his place in the side. He needs to just get over himself, and then maybe he'll remember why he was so happy at LFC 30 days ago.
