Solanke looks like a class act, albeit based on one half against Tranmere. Like the look of him.

TAA looked good. He's got a great chance of starting instead of Clyne.
Gruijc, Kent, Ojo, Solanke, Gomez, Woodburn. All good performances from the youngsters.
Gruijc in particular looked fit and ready. Great to see.

Karius did well. Hopefully he'll impress in pre season.

All in all. Good.

Solanke is the real deal. So is Trent. Also good performances from Ojo, Kent, Chirivella and Grujic. Flanno looked a lot sharper and quicker than last pre-season, covered a lot of ground. Can there still be a chance for him?

Markovic is shit and I thought Gomez looked somewhat shaky. Woodburn did all right, but why is he playing CM again?

Oh, and the MOM for me was the big, fat Tranmere CB Steve McNulty. If we can't sign Van Dijk... and our 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 20th, 50th choice CB... – then I'd take him as #51 choice. He literally filled the penalty area with his erm... presence.

1st half Milner penalty (won by Ojo), Grujic a beauty from 25 meters.

2nd half Chirivella a tap in rebound from a Solanke shot, and a Woodburn penalty (earned it himself).

Markovic was really poor. Playing like someone who knows their time at the club is up.
Should move him on quickly.

I've learned not to judge players based on their pre season performance. Especially if it's against Tranmere.

Ojo has clearly taken Klopps advice to heart about being more direct. Thought he was very positive last night.
A loan move to Boro, if he's guaranteed to be a first team player, for a year and he'll come back ready to earn his place in the squad I reckon.
Very exciting player.

As much as I liked the prospect of signing Salah and still do, on paper, I've got this niggling idea that he's going to be a disappointment. The bar was set high by Mane last season which doesn't help him.

VVD doesn't carry The same risk for obvious reasons , injuries aside (maybe) and if we were to get keita I just feel he will be boss , it's irrational as I know fuck all about him but yeah.

*Not that a preseason match against Wigan makes or breaks any new signings' career at the club

Your bets are well and truly hedged, but that sort of post will never make you the first to call him shit, which is how you win scm.
