When Mascher threw his toys out the pram on monday, we lost what little we had to bargain with. It was pretty clear then that Barca were holding all the cards.

Looks like we'll be making a profit again during a transfer window, thats the sign of a team and club on the way up eh..
 
We've got rid of 70m worth of CM in 13 months and ended up with Lucas, Poulsen, Shelvey and Spearing.

That's a fucking disgraceful fee. What happened to Roy's "he'll go at our valuation or not at all stance" - you can't tell me we value him at less than we paid for him at West Ham (where he wasn't even playing)?

So Barca sold Yaya Toure for 28m and have just paid us 16m for Mascherano. What an absolute fucking joke.

I'm convinced had we held out for 28m with Inter and Barca competing, they'd have eventually paid up.

This club is in utter disarray.

^^^^^^^ This seems to have got a bit lost in the middle of the argument. If this is true, it's still not full value but it probably is the best we could have hoped for in all the circs.

No point blaming anybody but the owners. It's they who have weakened the club to the extent where we had to do such a deal.

He knows he's worth 30m odd and he should have been reminded of that. We've received roughly just over half his value because he wants a move. We should have made him get on with earning his 80 fucking grand a week and wait until someone was prepared to pay his right value or the end of his contract, whichever sooner.

We've completely capitulated over this one and Roy Hodgson is hardly making a whimper about it.

It is nothing to do with Old Uncle Roy in any way
 
If the fee is actually 22m (and I haven't seen anything official) that's a pretty good deal given the circumstances. We will have recouped the fee we paid and made a handy profit.

I couldn't see the point in hanging on to a player who clearly does not want to play for us, we were hardly in a position to continue to pay him and let him sit out his contract.

They can do it but that will be hard.

Reastically we'll get between £18M and £20M
