Barca bought him for like 16M euros after he did well at a mid-table club, I've forgotten which one. Much like Chiggy last season, he got a few appearances here and there and generally looked clumsy and error prone.

I've never seen him play at fullback, but regardless I really don't see what use we'd have for him.

Before the season started I'd have said LB, but Kelly'll do fine there until we get a specialist in (and will push him for a place even then).

Wierd thing is that both Marca and AS are quoting the deal as being €5.5M per year for 4 years (=£4.5M) plus add-ons

i.e. £18M + plus add-ons in four instalments.

NB. AS also state that Inter made a late bid too.
