There's a long way to go no doubt about it but I'm hoping this is the first shoots of recovery for Liverpool. We need to take the attitude into many more games and make it the rule not the exception. If we'd have taken a lot of chances in the first half it could have been an impressive score line. What worried me was Blackburn scored with their first real attack of the game- as farcical as the goal was. Defence needs a lot of work that's for sure. As IO've said Skrtel and Konchesky are very mistake prone and we need a lot more solidity. Hopefully with injuries subsiding that side may improve.

Nerves played a huge part in things. Up until we scored the crowd were very quiet , you could hear a pin drop at times, things exploded a bit with relief when we scored, only to go very quiet again in the last fifteen minutes or so. I think the crowds nerves transferred directly to the players.

I also agree about Skrtel there is always a yahoo waiting to happen once a game, Benjani skinned him for their goal, and then there was that horrific back pass Pepe did well to deal with. I said in the other thread I would rather have Agger.

I think nerves are playing a huge part at the moment Vlad for players and fans alike. Only winning games will overcome that. I think if we show the same attitude we showed yesterday going forwards we'll get a lot more results and confidence can only improve. It's up to the lads on the pitch to do it but we, as fans, have a responsibility to get behind our team now. As KHL says we need to take an onwards and upwards approach across the whole club now and cast off the shadow of negativity thats been hanging over our club for far too long. That's going to take time though.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention was Ngog. When he come on he looked like he was out for a Sunday morning jog. We needed him to work much much harder than he did.

The way he runs reminds me of Gerry Anderson puppet. He like Babel are no answers to our problems at the moment.
I would rather see Ngoo given a shot 6'4" and a big strong lad already.

Oh yes, the other thing that did not help with the nerves was being denied a stone wall pen on Kyriakos just before they went up and scored.
It was only when I saw it on MOTD 2 last night I realised why the players were so upset.

Refs have to start giving those. On the other hand, Skrtel would have given away a few earlier this season.
