Rangers..

I think its pretty much agreed that throughout history there have been times when certain English people have behaved like right bastards towards the Irish. I wouldnt hold it against their football teams though. 😀

Indeed we probably have. The name Cromwell rings a bell 😀

Not all Irish people. Just the ones who's utter disdain for the mainland seems to be forgotten when it comes to supporting a football team. If these people can't stand England so much because of history, why in the name of good fuck, would they want to be associated with an English football team? Smacks of rank hypocrisy to me.

As for the Irishmen who support Rangers or Celtic, if anyone tells me its not down to historical sectarian divides then frankly I think they need their heads testing. To back this up, how many protestant Irishman support Celtic or vice versa?

I think it's time for Scottish independence. As a leaving gift they can have Northern Ireland. I think that would suit most people. In England, that is.

Women are not allowed there because all Abrahamic religions are based on (alongside believing there's an invisible man in the sky who watches every thing you do and will punish you for eternity if you displease him) men subjugating women.
Simple.

This is false, and women are allowed there.

It's laughable that some English fans are getting high and mighty about how other fans behave.

What's false? Women are not allowed there? I took that from the previous post. I couldn't give a fuck what a load of people who believe in an imaginary man in the sky think, believe or practice. Collective madness.
Fuck it. This is a football forum. Theological debate is pointless. If you believe it then you believe it and are sure I'm wrong. If you don't then it just looks like a load of people with an imaginary friend talking utter shite.
Liverpool football club is my religion, so there. At least I know they exist and I can see them. *blows raspberry*

Is this about the Rangers fans smashing up Manchester? Cos the people who mentioned that from memory are from Ireland I think.

Dave2 brought up the Manchester thing and I dont think he is Irish.

From this thread it is quite obvious that most Irish posters, eg Ruairi, Count, Ross and I include myself, have no time for the Rangers/Celtic thing or the shit that goes with it.

The theological debate is normally held in the General Chat ... but we do go off topic sometimes. I don't care what you believe, or how you feel about what I believe etc ... I do care when one make statements that generalize everyone based on extremists (yes, they do subjugate women in extremist Jewish sects). Other than that, no issues whatsoever with your opinion. To each his own!

Me neither. I lived in Scotland for a year in 2002 and still couldn't bring myself to watch that crap

I brought it up because to highlight some (well..a lot) of Rangers fans are scum. Normally when fans travel to another city they dont bring riots and chaos with them. Least not to extent that was displayed in Manchester. This point has nothing to do with Ireland or the Irish.

I realise that Dave. I was just answering Spions post

I wrote an extremely long reply to this, then thought fuck it, and deleted it.

It's telling that no thread about Rangers can survive without degenerating into an argument about an Abrahamic religion. For that reason alone the thought of them ever coming anywhere near English football is abhorrent. I'm out.

That's an excellent point, well made.

I object to the grounds they're not English. Swansea, Cardiff, & any other club not based in England should fuck off back to their own league, despite the fact uefa hate it so it is a little bit fun watching them squirm helplessly.

It didn't degenerate because of Rangers or anything sectarian.

It degenerated because only you brought it up and (rather randomly) decided to denigrate another person's religion.

I don't give a fuck where Rangers go as long as its not England. Firstly, the Scots who keep on banging on about their desire to have their own country yet want to reap the rewards that something in England may provide them when it suits is fucking hypocrisy. The other thing is they can keep their twisted religious bullshit bigotry limited to north of the Scottish and Irish borders. It's pointless and not welcome. I remember sitting at Anfield when two LFC bellends were attempting to have a "flag off". One with an Irish flag and one with a red hand flag. They got put straight. No place at Anfield for that. We've had some Northern Irish nobs in the King Harry wearing LFC tops pissed as arseholes cheering Rangers on the last game of the season last year waving their red hand flag round and making people edgy. The atmosphere was getting tense at one point.this is LFC fans with each other ! They had that flag pinned up on the wall of the Harry the day before as they were staying there until I'd walked in a told the girl running place it would cause trouble and took it down . Cheeky cunts. Took our This Is Anfield flag down to put that piece of antagonistic shite up. Don't get me wrong here either, I think both sides are as bad as each other. It's pathetic legacy bullshit that people need to move on from and has no place in football and certainly not football so no thanks Rangers. If they come Celtic will soon follow as well too.

I was there; I held the stool while Sean took it down😀

It was pretty nasty though; a whole bunch of drunken Rangers fans in Liverpool tops singing 'Campione' to celebrate their title on the same day United won theirs.

Wanted to ask if they'd come to the right pub.

I believe Italy's Serie A clubs are voting today on admitting Rangers as they seem to hit every criteria to be a top Italian club

I just read this. Can't say I agree with it, I'm sure a lot of the clubs in the bottom tier would love it if Rangers were to play them. Think of the increase in ticket sales, even if it is for just one season.

Said by SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster
"The third option, I was keen to stress yesterday, would inflict massive damage on the whole of the game in Scotland; and effectively punish 41 innocent clubs for the misdeeds of one."

Let's just hold them responsible for Charlie Adam.

George and Tom almost did this to LFC and its fans. No matter what prehistoric nutters make up a part of Rangers' following, I still think this is punishing the wrong parties.

They haven't been punished GK.

Everything that has happened us a consequence of going into administration and then liquidation.

If the rules were applied as they stand, Newco Rangers wouldn't be eligible to join the Scottish league division 3 for another 3 years.
