I've never really watched Scottish footy - bar Celtic every once in a while during the Champions League, and a derby every once in a while. The football is meh despite the passion and aggression.

However, I've watched two of the Rangers' game (yes, pretty poor) because I want to see how Stevie gets along ... and I'm also enjoying seeing how Kent & Ejaria are coming along (yes Dreamy, I know neither will probably make it - saved you the hassle of telling me! 😀 ).

So far, they've actually done quite well - they should have 9 points from 3 games, but 2 late equalizers against them have them on 5 points (1 behind Celtic I think). They've not lost one game, and Kent and Ejaria have been active in most games (Ejaria has scored 2 in 2, with tonight's goal being pure class).

Anyone else following the trio (& Flanno I guess)?

Yeah, me too. Thought Ejaria had a great game against Motherwell. Flanno not so much. Tough job Stevie has taken on really. Good luck to him.

I'm pretty confident that both can make it - as I was, incidentally, unlike some, about Robertson...

As for Gerrard, I might actually watch the Auld Firm game, as mired in toxic prejudice as it remains. He at least seems to have knocked Rangers into some kind of shape, and certainly given them drive. Much will be clarified after the weekend.

Kent has struggled imo - not as confident about him.
I think ejaria has the tools - and he's clearly getting better. I think he's got a chance to be a very good PL midfielders if he carriers on on this trajectory.

I think so, too.

He's a different type of player and with the football played up there will take time to get to speed. It's a good thing that Gerrard seems to trust him as it was this lack of trust that set him back at Bristol.(and in many Championship teams, too.)

Yeah, watched a couple of games. Ejaria has been a stand out player this season so far. Love them to get something against Celtic this weekend.

Wasn't there talk of both Old Firm clubs joining the English League? Lower leagues first, then making there way up.

I think people have discussed the idea in pubs since the dawn of time. I don't think anyone at either FA has ever raised it as a possibility.

Anyways, if Gerrard can get Rangers to beat Celtic it will prove me wrong for about the zillionth time so far on these here boards. I thought he had no chance but he seems to be doing a good job. 4 reds in his first 8 games, breaking records already.

Ejaria looks like he's enjoying himself from the few clips I've seen.

A massive midweek game with 2 red cards isn't the best way to prepare for Celtic at the weekend. I'd like to see Gerrard continue to do well so hopefully adrenaline will carry them through. A draw would still be a great result for them.

This laughable bullshit has been going on since at least the 1980s. Used to be semi regular stuff about it in Shoot and Match.
Never going to happen. They can keep their backward religious shite up there.

So you didn't have one of those half and half bobble hats with Liverpool and Rangers/ Celtic on them in the 80s?

They were a thing for a little while, i thought, along with that chant.

Yeah the Kop was full of loads of half and halfs and loads of 'Rangers!' 'Celtic!' chants. Especially when Souness had all those English players and Celtic had Andy Walker. '87, '88? Good kits too, with the little plastic grandad shirt popper. I had the Celtic shirt and a half and half Reds/Celtic bobble hat. But in my defence I was a callow youth of a mere 19 or so and didn't really get the whole Catholic/Proddie stuff. I didn't know I was church of England until I was 11 and even then had no idea what that was.

Ah, the good old days of us being linked with whatever Rangers or Celtic player was good back then. I remember McStay rumoured loads of times, and also a couple of other high-profile Old Firm players - can't recall which ones, though.

Luckily, Souness made the dream happen with Mark Walters

Ha, yeah. The worst one he bought for them probably. MacAvennie was another linked wasn't he?

Couldn't give a fuck to be honest. But if you really really pushed me I hope Celtic beat the absolute bejasus out of them.
