Noted Gerry_A_Trick. And the first line from the Tottenham Match report is - Liverpool U19s' dreams......
It is a underage tournament where players play against other underage players.
The reserves get to play against experienced players like the reserve game vs everton a few weeks ago.
If the next gen was truly the reseves coates and brad jones etc could play. But it is not it is an underage tournament.

You're being overly pedantic.

I don't think it's fair to call him a wum but I think he should be a bit humble when posting in a new forum.
I also think he has a point regarding the difference between the reserves and the next gen tournament.
If the next gen tournament was a reserve game, the likes of Jones, Ecclestone etc would have taken part in it. Considering that, they have to find replacements in the under age teams.
Anyway it's silly to argue about such trivial things.

So welcome to the forum "dakid", based on your first posts I bet you'll fit right in. This is not RAWK.

Eccleston was always available as an over-age player. We used several over-age players during the tournament. On the basis of your own argument, Sterling, who featured regularly, isn't a proper 'reserve' and is merely a youth player. Go and read up about the Next Gen - the decision was to use our youngest reserves as a unit in that tournament. That's why it is there. That's why the club calls those fixtures 'reserve' fixtures. Stop trying to stoke the fire. for god's sake. It's just tiresome.

Thanks for the welcome Modo I will try to be more humble if I continue posting on this site.
I agree with you it is silly to argue about such things so I am not going to comment on the matter anymore.

My poor attempt of being a peace maker. I'll just leave it.

Eccleston was too old to play even as an over age player.
