Rafa4PM and spiderneil, are you saying you don't feel even slightly betrayed by the manager you idolise sneakily signing for another club while our season spirals down the toilet? It's people like you I feel sorry for. You chant his name every week, you defend him every day on this forum, and then he just fucks off to Italy in search of a bigger transfer kitty. And still he can do no wrong?!
Has he actually signed for Juve then, or is this just newspaper speculation at present?
FFS - just give me a hypothetical response!

Rafa, Torres, Lucas, Skrtel, Aurelio, Insua, Pacheco, Aqualani, N'Gog and Babel will all be gone in the summer.

Remember where you heard it first.
the new manager will have 200m to spend! YAY!!

Can you imagine if we were desperate for him to stay? We'd be mortified by this kind of behaviour.
We aren't, he knows we aren't and hence it isn't underhanded in any way shape or form. I suspect he is probably being encouraged to seek another job from within the club as we don't have to pay as much compensation to sack him.
he knows we aren't. his name is sung every game home and away. where would he feel he isn't wanted? I suspect he doesn't frequent 6CM and even if he did the ratio of people that want him out is at worst 60:40
OK Neil, everything is hunky dory and there is no way he could fail to feel unloved and appreciated for his wonderful efforts this season.

Jesus Christ the attendance against West Ham was 37,697 the atmosphere in the stadium is completely dead, and the papers have been running stories about him being sacked all season. The players look as though the have given up, we are about to finish in our lowest league position in years, and we have been signing absolute rubbish since Masher. Yet for some reason you seem to that Rafa will be completely oblivious to the disaster area surrounding him, in the exact same way that you are oblivious to Ryan Babel being shit.

My humble opinion:

Rafa is not going anywhere. Everything is quiet as no one knows who is going to own the club come the summer. Juventus can not afford Rafa and Rafa isn't going to give up a tonne of money to go somewhere else. Plus Rafa knows that the Italians won't stick by him if he doesn't get instant results.

I'm not oblivious to rafa's or ryan's faults, I just think the former has more to contend with than just what happens on the pitch and in the case of the later I just like him (hey, sue me).

FFS - I liked the post, get over it.

I think you need to learn the difference between "speculation" and what actually proves to be the case (on this subject) Bunny. You keep spouting off about the reports in the media like they are facts.

As it stands now none of us know what is going on, so i for one don't feel "fucking shocked" or "betrayed by his behaviour" at present.

Can those who reckon Rafa would be doing something wrong by leaving, many of whom seem to be keen that he should leave, please explain to me how they reconcile those two views?

I'd be celebrating the birth of a new era.

I'm going to bake the placenta and bring sandwiches for lunch for weeks afterwards. I may even get the Man Utd fella next door to eat one without knowing. LOLZARINGOS!!!!!!!!!

I'm really not comfortable with people celebrating the potential demise of a good Liverpool manager. I was pleased when Souness went but I didn't dance a jig.

And the fact that people are using as a stick to beat people with, makes it worse. But hell I'll get over it.

Oncy: here's a choice. You can have only one. Thatcher dead or Rafa out. Which is it?

I'd say it's just an attempt to get a rise out of some of the cult members. They'll support anything that Rafa does, regardless of how it affects the club.

Makes you wonder if some of them are actually LFC supporters.

First, to clarify, Benitez brought positives to the club, as well as negatives. Much like Houllier, he can't simply be branded a failure, in fact, I think it's even less appropriate with Benitez.

Regarding your celebrating a new era, I just don't buy it. You've been bitter and negative about Rafa for a long time now. You don't know what the next era would look like, you don't know the new manager, you don't know the new owners. It could easily be a worse era. You would be celebrating the end of one era, not the beginning of some unknown one.

We've failed and I don't think he'll ever get it right. I don't see the point in prolonging the misery.

Bring on someone new, someone with fresh ideas, someone who won't sign Robbie Keane for 20m.
