the rafa haters are about to get what they wanted.

...careful what you wish for...
What a shit post. Careful what you wish for.
Patronising twat.
It fucking irks the shit out of me the way Rafas remaining loyalists think they're in on some great truth that we the non believers are too fucking clueless and niave to understand. Like all he's been doing over the past 6 years is lulling the oppo into a false sense of security while his 'proper' fans knowingly wink at each other and scold us as if we are stupid children running around swapping panini stickers.
Fucking bollocks.
Careful what you wish for. Bollocks.

Good morning Oncy.

You must admit our options are a little thin on the ground if Jose won't come. As it stands I'm scared shitless who we might end up with.

According to Tuttosport he's already held discussions with our club to take Sammy Lee with him.
Hey bud. I dunno Lippi, Cappelo, Hiddink, Magath, rikjard etc there's plenty of choices out there. That's not really what I meant though. It's this 'You'll see' attitude, I fear for our new gaffer when he comes in, because half the jebs on here will be happy to see him fail just so they can tell us they told us so.
It may well be a mistake, we can't predict the future. But we know the present and it's not good enough.

Oncy did you write that yourself or did you hear someone else say it?. Because its a great line and it sums our position up perfectly

Oh well time will tell i guess.

Whoever comes in i'd hope that they'd be given a fair crack at the job (by the fans). I'm still not convinced that a number of the names being mentioned would be a step in the right direction though.

Bless you, Andy.

I'm almost stark raving mad reading some of the stuff in here.

Juventus begin to hire backroom staff for Liverpool boss Benitez

According to Italian daily, Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are closing in on a deal with Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez and have begun to recruit his backroom staff at the Spaniard's request.

Juventus chief John Elkann has made Benitez his number one choice to succeed caretaker coach Alberto Zaccheroni this summer. Juventus reportedly held a conference call with Benitez's agent, Manuel Garcia Quillon on Monday night in which they discussed a timetable for the coach's Anfield exit.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Benitez has agreed in principle to sign a contract worth €4.5m a season and that he has accepted to reduce his backroom staff from twelve to six people. Juventus have been given a list of their names and they have now begun approaching them to join the Turin based club.

The staff requested reportedly includes West Ham's fitness coach Antonio Pintus, Benitez's current assistant Mauricio Pellegrino and his chief scout Eduardo Macia. It also includes Anfield fitness coach Paco De Miguel who previously worked for Atletico Madrid and ominously for Liverpool has a good relationship with Fernando Torres .

Benitez has also stipulated that Juventus hire Amedeo Carboni as director of sport, who the Liverpool manager worked with successfully at Valencia. The final appointment would be Mauro Pederzoli, who now works for AC Milan having been a scout at Liverpool. He was also once director of sport at Torino.

I thought Rafa had a falling out with Macia?? Loads of rumours about Rafa being very unhappy with the last two seasons reports and transfer dealings that Macia has been involved in.

Either way, if we get Mourinho then great. If not, there's a chance we could be worse of. I e Rijkaard etc.

If they take Rafa and all his shitty staff, am I right in thinking that they need to pay us to pay up their contracts. We could make about 50m quid here.

😀 Bit of an over-estimate there. We would be lucky to get 10-15 and even if we get more than that it will go straight into G&H pockets as personal expense or to RBS.

There's an awful lot of detail to these stories in the Italian press. Perhaps this really is adios.

I think the best we're gonna get here is a 'mutual agreement' jobbie.

I think thats about right.

Worse..?

So next year, our directionless, passionless, negative football sees us finish 8th? And we don't win the Europa League?

Bologna!!

Or someone else. How reliable are these Italian sports-papers?
"Gazzetta dello Sport" is absolutely kosher. "Tuttosport" admittedly I know less about, but the two of them seem to be pretty much in step on this story.

Ahhheeeemmm, okay. We finished last season with the highest points tally ever, and outscored every team in the league. You remember that right? So, Rafa is capable of getting good results aswell.

Even though this season has been horribly shite, getting in the wrong type of manager would see us drift even further down shite lane. I want him gone, no doubt about that. But not for every price.

If we get Riijaaed or someone in that mould. I think we'd be in even more trouble. Just simpley because he's not a very good manager.

If the right man is availeble and can be hired, then hell yes. If not, I'm not overly keen tbh.

I'm actually worried about any manager we bring in, but we can't keep things the way they are.

Mourinho is probably the best of a very small selection
I can't think of another manager I would want at the club.
I reckon I could gurantee 7th with that squad for 35 grand a year. Email me if you want.

Thats a toughie Stu.

Capello would be very good, but thats unlikely. As is Hiddink.

I'm not to certain about MON, but we could do worse.

Mourinho is the strongest candidate around, and if Rafa is on his way out, we really need to do everything possible to get Jose.

Maureen won't come to us. He'll have Madrid and Citeh drooling, and with Ferguson saying he's packing it in after one season there's the future lure of the scum.

I don't see the attraction from his perspective.

Unless we're taken over by some billionaire sugar-daddy type, I'm afraid that's spot-on.
