Only when they play shit football or are named Del Bosque.

Capello
He fits under shit football.
Oh just give up will you
What? I don't care that he plays unattractive football, he'd be my first choice manager.
We have had a loooong decade of tactics, low pressure, no movement and dull football as it is. For all Capellos result it is about time that we get our feet moving, and go for an attacking kind of manager. I dont fucking care if he wins the league anymore. I just want to be proud of the effort.....

Thought I'd share a piece of info on Mourinho.

Yesterday Martin Laursen (the former Villa-player) said in the CSKA v Inter Champions League studio that he knew from a very reliable source, that Mourinho had already signed a pre-contract with Real Madrid. Making him their new manager in Summer apparently.

And that's why he's suddenly opted to play with three attacking-minded players at Inter instead of only one as has been the scenario for most part of the Season. He's getting used to the 'new system' already.

Laursen seemed very convincing but I'm bit baffled as to why he should know this without anyone else doing so. But after all he did play for AC Milan for five years or so and he could obviously still have some interesting contacts down their.

Make of it what you want.
It would be of no great surprise, lets face it. At least it would mean he stayed away from the Manchester clubs for a while. He isn't going to want to manage our club in this mess.
It would be kind of a surprise. Why does Mourinho keep going on about how much he misses English football if he's already signed a pre-contract agreement with Real? He strikes me as the sort of guy who couldn't resist boasting about something like that.
I agree with your point, but pairing the worlds biggest club with the worlds most sought after manager would hardly be a shocking turn of events. I'm also hopeful that it's true.

I feel the same way. I feel I would also like a manager who sometimes does the obvious logical thing, who picks a team you would expect him to pick, who doesn't wait until the 63rd minute to make a substitution that has been crying out to be made for ages, who doesn't take off our best player when we are desperate for a goal .......... :🙂

Your standards are far too high, Portly.

Take your head out of the clouds.

Mourinho has always stated he wanted to be the first manager to win all 3 leagues. He's won 2 of them, only La Liga left.

He's manager who likes having money to spend and he has clearly burnt all bridges with Barca so you can rule them out. Real Madrid seem a logical fit, just like Inter did.

They're craving European success once again, and Jose has proven time and again he's a good manager in Europe.

If Pellegrini is sacked, I'd guess that either Jose or Rafa will take over.

Juve prepare final details for Rafa
Wednesday 21 April, 2010

Juventus are said to be so close to hiring Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez that only a few details separate them from making an agreement.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Jean-Claude Blanc and an assistant director of Exor, the holding company that owns Juventus, held a conference call with Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quillon after Liverpool's 3-0 victory over West Ham United on Monday night.

Quillon apparently told them that Benitez would make his decision clear by the end of the week after the first leg of Liverpool's Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.

Juventus' board hope to ratify the decision to hire a new Coach and plans to rebuild the team by May 10, so Benitez has until then to accept.

Moves within Exor are perhaps being made to favour Benitez's arrival in Turin.

John Elkann, the grandson of Juventus' legendary patron Gianni Agnelli, became the President of Fiat yesterday and said that he would have a less hands-on role at the club.

That decision perhaps paves the way for Andrea Agnelli to return to the club in a formal capacity, something the fans would like to see, as he was intimately linked with Juventus' success under Marcello Lippi.

We're never going to win the league under Benitez so I hope these rumours develop into something with more substantial.

We won't be replacing him with someone of a higher calibre or record than Benitez and whoever comes in is going to have to prove themselves to a degree - but he will bring hope, a fresh impetus and a new start, and I think that's what we need. It's certainly more important to us than Rafael Benitez winning La Liga 7 years ago.

There's been plenty of talk about Benitez waiting to see if Juve qualified for Europe before making a decision.

Which gave me a mordant chuckle or two.

More importantly, they're talking about giving him £175m to rebuild the team, which must be very appealing. Hopefully he will stand by his assertions that useless cunts like Lucas, Insua, Aquilani et al are "good players" and take them with him.

I just want to see rafa given a 'proper' budget without have to sell anyone (if he doesn't want). just one season and see where that takes us, after that if he still isn't doing the business then fair enough get rid.
why should rafa have to deal with shit owners, clueless chief execs, and recently a sell to buy policy but someone like jose can come in with new owners in place, a large transfer kitty (you'd assume) and no off the pitch bullshit. jose then goes and achieves the league (maybe) 'oh, fucking HELL, jose is a GENIUS!!'

over two seasons and the money for keane sale still isn't forthcoming.
for two seasons you saw middle of the road signings and then the yanks came gave rafa a 'relatively' large transfer kitty and and bought torres and mash. if rafa is given a large transfer kitty without being forced to sell I think you will naturally see better transfers. look at the players bought for over 15m

torres
mash
keane
aqua
johnson

over half are fantastic and are first team players. aqua and keane are distastrous but he is more hit than miss (admittedly 'just').

I'll also had if rafa were given more freedom/money the likes of vidic, alves, malouda, simao, walcott( well, no loss there), wilshere(sp), silva would have been purchased.

But Hunter also said Rafa is still very highly thought of with the powers that be at Madrid.

I'd love to reply to some of the posts in this thread but that would only result in more "good posts from Mo Mia"

He didn't though. Those valuations would be the maximum we would have paid had they reached certain milestones. I know people bang on about me going on about structured deals but frankly if Aquilani is sold in the summer for anywhere above £5m then we have covered our initial outlay minus wages and agents fees - according to reputable sources.

The 20 million EURO transfer fee is broken up into the following:

- 4 cash instalments of
- - 5 million EURO upfront
- - 3 million EURO by 4th January 2010
- - 7 million EURO by June 30th 2010
- - 5 million EURO by June 30th 2011.

Further Add ons include:

- 300,000 EURO for every year Liverpool qualify for the Champions League from 2010/11 to 2014/15

- 250,000 EURO everytime the player reaches 35 appearancs, 70 appearances, 105 appeances and then 140 appearances.

- 1 million EURO the first time Liverpool either wins the Premier League or Champions League by 30 June 2014.

- 5% of any future transfer fee will be paid to Roma.

I have no way to confirm these sums tho, John.

I stand corrected. I had seen this but couldn't remember the detail. So our outlay has increased to at least 8m euro with another 7m due in a few months, assuming he is still here. See we haven't triggered any of the add-ons then!! Can we get 8m euro +5% for him do you reckon?

Juventus Convincers Are Unconvincing For Liverpool Coach Rafael Benitez - Report
Juventus are finding it difficult to land the Spaniard...
By Salvatore Landolina

Juventus are facing more obstacles in their attempt to land Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez as the €80 million transfer budget pledge and top wages offer are not convincing the coach to quit Anfield, reports Tuttosport.

The promise of a major transfer kitty and similar wages to what he is on in England have brought Benitez to his feet, but he is in no mood to hand in his resignation.

Benitez, who signed a new deal with the club last year, would prefer the scenario to change, in that he would prefer for Liverpool to choose to let him go. There has been a meeting between Juve president Jean-Claude Blanc, Carlo Sant'Albano and Manuel Quilon Garcia, Benitez's agent.

Blanc was told that Benitez will not resign from his post for two reasons: dealing with the Liverpool fans who will not welcome such a major decision, and his four-year deal worth €16 million signed last March.

Resignation would see him lose out on that money, though Juventus would be able to match it by offering him a top deal.

However, Benitez would want a type of golden handshake from Juve as well as his bumper contract.?
