There won't be many top managers interested in joining us, if there's not enough money available for transfer kitty, yet having high expectations.
We are turning in to fucking Newcastle.
I reckon their transfer kitty is much healthier than ours.

You say.

We do, however, have the funds to gaurantee Rafa between 15 and 20 million (depending on who you listen to) over the next 4 years. Now, if he walks away...
For 20 m a year (net) I doubt Jose will come. He will want at least 100 m (net). Hiddink I am not sure but Hiddink's record is no better than Rafa's.

There was an interview somewhere, I think, if my memory served me right that Jose said he will not come unless there are funds for transfer (or something like that). Funds to change the present team to make it the same standard as Man U and Chelsea will be massive.

Who would he sell from Torres, Gerrard, Reina, Masher and Carra? Selling half of the balalnce Babel, Kuyt, Yossi, Aqua, Lucas, Agger, Ngog, Insua, Arbeloa, Johnson, Skrtel, Greek and Reira might not bring in more than 50m. So he need another 100 m to start rebuilding, even if he is allowed to spend from the sale of these players. First year, he needs at least 150 m (edit: plus the 50m from sale) to rebuild. After that 100m. Third year maybe 50m. First three years average out net of 100 m. Where is this going to come from? Not in the current setting, it will not happen.

Someone should post that on RAWK and get banned.

A lot of assumptions there, which I wouldn't be as quick as you to make. It also doesn't take into account Mourinho's admiration for this club and the MAJOR attraction (for him) of trying to put one over on Rafa. The bookies currently make Mourinho favourite to be our next manager and they're not in the habit of getting things wrong.

Well, he is every better's and most of SCM's favourite to come, so the odds are massive against the bookies. So they have to shorten the odds as I am sure plenty of dosh have been placed on Jose to come. I am not so sure bookies are often right. They have to protect themselves.
And rightly so.

We have to be 100 pct that last Seasons immense showings wasn't just a fluke.

Because if it wasn't and we'll get back to our winning ways we can actually win the title with Rafa at the helm.

97% then.

All I'm arguing is that 4th should give him one more go at it. Simply because of the way we played last Season with more or less the same squad.

Come January 2011 we'd then either be in the run still or he'll go. Or somtin.

exaggerate much?
chelsea beat arsenal
liverpool beat everton
the difference between arsenal (in 3rd place) will be 5 points with us playing arsenal the following week.

What's that got to do with the likelihood (or otherwise) of us winning the league under Rafa?

Apparently "La Repubblica", a respected newspaper in Italy, is reporting on its sports pages that Juve's lawyers are meeting Rafa's representatives to discuss personal terms for a deal intended to go through at the end of the season.

Rafa will go down in my estimations if it's proven that he's setting this up on the sly.

He'll have the blessing of the owners, mate, and probably about 80% of the fans, too.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes mate, but this is what he said yesterday:

"Contrary to reports in the Italian media this weekend, I want to make it absolutely clear I have no agreement with Juventus and have not and will not be meeting Juventus or their representatives or any other club," said the Liverpool manager.

I've got no comment to make with regards to your "80%" estimation.

Can't what the Italian newspaper story say and Rafa's quote both technically be correct ?

I genuinely have no idea. I think it'll probably hinge on where we finish this year. And with the league (and us) in a serious state of flux at the moment it's anybody's guess where we finish.
