He'll have the blessing of the owners, mate, and probably about 80% of the fans, too.

Actually no, Spidey. I borrowed Father Christmas' sleigh and travelled the entire world, giving out 56,053,346 - not a made up number either- quantitative questionnaires to reds world-wide, and I assure you, it's deadly accurate.

Christ.

sorry, my mistake, I thought you made it up.

Heh, as if.

Italian daily Tuttosport claims that Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is still Juventus' number one target and that they want to conclude contract negotiations with him this month.

Benitez has been rumoured for some time to be a prime target to take charge of the Turin giants, who are planning a summer overhaul following a desperately disappointing season. Benitez’s Liverpool future has been under scrutiny for several months as the Reds have also endured a difficult season and the Anfield club is also experiencing financial difficulties.

Tuttosport claims that Benitez remains the preferred choice of Juventus chief Roberto Bettega with Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc next in line. Apparently, Benitez's greater experience is the major factor in Juventus' pursuit of the Anfield boss.

Tuttosport also speculates that Juventus officials are eager to finalize a deal for Benitez this month, as early as 15 April. The Turin club wants their man in place as soon as possible, in order to plan for next season.

Meanwhile, another Italian daily, Corriere dello Sport ran a poll to find out who Juventus fans want as the new coach. Liverpool manager Benitez was listed as one of the favourites alongside Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli and England boss Fabio Capello who proved to be the fans' choice.

This is what I called a POSITIVE news for Liverpool Football Club !

Thought I'd share a piece of info on Mourinho.

Yesterday Martin Laursen (the former Villa-player) said in the CSKA v Inter Champions League studio that he knew from a very reliable source, that Mourinho had already signed a pre-contract with Real Madrid. Making him their new manager in Summer apparently.

And that's why he's suddenly opted to play with three attacking-minded players at Inter instead of only one as has been the scenario for most part of the Season. He's getting used to the 'new system' already.

Laursen seemed very convincing but I'm a bit baffled as to why he should know this without anyone else doing so. But after all he did play for AC Milan for five years or so and he could obviously still have some interesting contacts down there.

Make of it what you want.

The bit about him trying the "new system" with Inter doesn't ring true to me. Doesn't necessarily mean there's nothing in what Laursen's saying, but I just googled "betting on the next Liverpool manager" and Mourinho's still the current favourite with the bookies over here.
It would be of no great surprise, lets face it. At least it would mean he stayed away from the Manchester clubs for a while. He isn't going to want to manage our club in this mess.
I just can't see him going there, he may not come to us but I think that story is bullshit.
Why not? He obviously has given up on the Barca job... It's a straight shoot-out between us and Madrid, and if I was in his shoes right now... I'd choose Madrid too.

Best we can hope for is O'Neill or McLeish... Happy fucking days!

Maybe so but Laursen doesn't strike me as someone who's just blabbering on about silly rumours. I reckon he's been told something and that he's certainly taking it for granted.

Well, time will tell I guess.

I wouldn't.

I think Real will win the league anyway so he won't be going anywhere.
Yeah, Real never sack managers who win the league.

I think Rafa will turn things around hence we dont need a new manager. I.e. just see how he is not effected by that Lucas plays rubbish. In 4 years time I am certain that Lucas will go on and play splendid, and then he has proven us all he was right all the time. We dont need no Mourinho to show us Rafa was right!

What makes you think that, because of the early CL knock out?
I really liked what he did at Villareal, can do quite well on a budget and I think he's doing well with top players too.

Why exactly? Because he did OK at a lesser Spanish team on a lower budget (that old chestnut)? So, he's the Latino Curbishley? The last big Pellegrini before Pellegrini was Ramos and he was wank. Harry Redknapp is a much better Manager for an English team than Ramos and likely Pellegrini.

No Gracias.

Because he dares to attack other teams. He is not obsessed by defending. We will not win any league under any Redknapp anyway!!!!!!!!!

I don't want Harry Redknapp. Just making the point that he's a better Manager for an English team than Ramos (proven) and Pellegrini (probably).

What, boasting that he was going to be the next manager of Madrid, while the incumbent is still trying to win the league?

Just like he did just before he became manager of Chelsea? Or Inter?

ie fucking never?
