The ones I know in the USA are either fairly nice British guys, or Bandwagon American supporters. On a separate note, I have a female customer, soccer player who stopped supporting our club last week, and now supports City. In all my life, I've never seen such a thing. Oh and she moved to Sydney
Really? I know someone who lives in Sydney who is also a girl football player and did exactly that! Small world maybe?

Sad

Well ... when dealing with such touchy subjects (Rafa, Rodgers etc), one needs to ensure your opinions aren't slanted like Peter has done with me in the past, or you are doing now ("some anti Rafa rant"). I don't know if I should be grateful (that you read all my posts) or just tell you to fuck off ... I will take the higher word and be grateful. So thank you!
Relax, just an observation that your views are starting to look slanted the other view, that is all...

I think highly of Rafa where it's deserved, and lowly where it's deserved. He did some amazing things (the best non-trophy thing I think will be what will make us a great team again - and most people are aware of it) and screwed some things up too. I just think something went wrong near the end of the tenure with us and he's not really recovered. As you can tell by my posts - I hope he does though (preferably outside of England). Nothing against the man - he's loved the club and city and deserves our respect.

I'm going to be at The Bridge on Saturday. Thinking of getting an "I <3 RAFA" Tshirt printed for bants.

As an aside wtf is up with these hyper adjectives to describe his 'rant' - It was hardly that but I mean 'Amazing rant', 'Astonishing rant', 'Extraordinary rant'??? 🙄

It wasn't even a rant. He sounded perfectly calm and just spoke the truth as he sees it. What a massive over-reaction by everyone involved in reporting it.

'He cared too much'

Fucking lol.
He cared too much. Thats why he went to shit.

Ever worked in a company where you loved your job? And you had political fights against those higher up who were clueless and who were tanking the company? And you spoke out against what was going on? Even to your own detriment when a true schemer would have done a better job scheming!

And yeah it went to shit because of all the crummy way it was managed. And yeah having seen the man in tears at anfield and read what others have written about him. Including the accountant and Reade. Yeah he cared too much. Not too hard to see for me.

Has anyone ever met a chelsea fan thats not a total nobhead? My mate brought one out to the bar the other week, I've never taken a faster dislike to anyone in my life.

Yeah, one of my best drinking buddies is a big Chelsea fan, blinkered and a bit nuts about the Chelsea mind you, doesn't accept that they bought the league and are over inflated with cash etc etc.... doesn't agree that they were minnows in any way or see any difference from what Abramovich did at Chelsea to what the Moores family did at LFC.... yeah... pretty nuts.

But a good chap.

I might add that out here in Asia I am seeing a shit load of Chelsea shirts, LOADS. I might also add that Samsung, cool consumer products, are a shit load cooler a sponsor than some bank like ours, the advert for that silly massive phone they have flashes Chelsea players every time it comes on. They are certainly "growing their brand" out here at least.

Yes. I struggled to live with it. Knowing they were laughing at me, toying with me, pitying me. I realised the solution was to tank the company myself by destroying them, as that I could live with. It's very easy to destroy even the biggest and oldest institutions from the inside. It's also very easy to conceal your plan and your emotions from the innocent bystanders. Even conning them into thinking you are some sort of heroic whistleblower. In reality you are straight up evil.

Good post but it only works if you were directing it at someone with integrity or insight or any knowledge or appreciation at all.

LOL.
'I signed Keane and Aquilani and fell out with Alonso to show the evil overlords HOW MUCH I cared'

I get that he loved his multi million pound a year job, surrounded by 45 thousand adoring fans, where he was given total control of all facets of daily life and basically designed his own job, I GET THAT. He LOVED the shit out of it. Love love loved it. Love!!

Im saying he was shit at it.
He didnt fail here, Inter, Chelsea etc because of love.
He failed because he isnt very good.

Don't you think 'failure' is a bit harsh considering what he did with us (CL, FA Cup, as close as we've been to the league in ages etc)? Yes, he cocked up at the end and left us in a declining position. That doesn't mean he was a failure.

Its like Hicks and Gillett never happened on here - it would be hard to find a more dysfunctional club at the time

I like how everyone just casually forgets the two league titles in Spain. I mean Valencia has been a powerhouse since he left.

No one casually forgets it, they just take it for what it was; a fantastic achievement.

But when it seems to be the the irregularity than the norm, then people ask questions

He left valencia to come to us citing board problems. He left us citing board problems. He left inter citing board problems. He will leave chelsea citing board problems.

Its obscene how all these boards of successful clubs aren't caving to his demands.

It's a fantastic achievement alright.

I'm not totally oblivious to Rafa's antics at different clubs. Sure the man wants control but he has delivered as well.
So to dismiss him despite his record, which is quite good compared to tons of top flight managers, is wrong imo.

I just think some of you are still a bit hurt because he joined Chelsea. It was a stupid move but in the end we can't sit and dictate which club he should or shouldn't manage when we don't want him.
