Rafa confirmed as new Chelsea boss

Maybe he should just give up managing on the off chance that the club who offers him a job has some fans who have denigrated Liverpool.

Again, I know most clubs have done it, but it's one thing doing it in match (which is inexcusable), but to do it during a minutes silence is a bigger cunts trick.

I'd be surprised if we ever get a manager who was loved by their previous club, coming to us as a rival club. We'll never get Jose, arsene, or anyone like that.

It looks like you are looking for reasons to not like him. Putting in rules to suit the specific circumstances.

Are you sure you don't have someone beside you, influencing what you think of him?

Nope, thoughts are my own. She think I'm excessive in my opinions of him and knows not to mention it.

I was seething when he joined chelsea because I felt like he was spitting on the fans who still loved him (even if I wasn't one); but I also was happy because FINALLY he would be criticised and people might see him for what he is. Sadly it didn't pan out that way.

I'm glad he's struggling because it means chelsea are struggling. The fan hatred is just a bonus.

His communication skills are rubbish. That's his main problem off the pitch. He makes a statement that sparks huge debate. Then he has to hold another press conference to explain that he's been misunderstood, even though some of his new comments blatantly contradict his previous comments. Then he has to do a couple more interviews, more relaxed with him grinning a lot, insisting that he didn't say anything that people claim he said and everything is lovely. I know English isn't his first language but for someone who's supposed to be such a hand-rubbing master schemer he makes an enormous mess of these media events.

Yep, hard to disagree with that. He doesn't help himself much. He seems to keep forgetting that the media are great for taking sound bites and turning out of context quotes into headlines.

ITs not so much hurt that he joined them. TBH, i was happy because it showed him up for the tit he is. And whilst we can't dictate where he can and can't go, surely people must consider it a spit in the face? The man who cried at hillsborough tributes, the man who loved this club, goes to a club which is the complete antithesis of everything he's meant to stand for. Surely that shows him up as someone who chases the pound, rather than manages for love?

looking at the record in spain as well. He won the league one season with 75 point and another with 77. Both with an 8 point gap.

Is it possible that Real and Barca had awful seasons? In one season real finished 4th, below barca and deportivo, another season barca finished 4th and and real finished 3rd behind deptortivo.

Yes he finished above the big 2, but the big 2 seemingly had shite seasons.

Well that has to be the biggest load of shit I've ever seen posted on here.

And that *really* is saying something.

Take his comments about the club's executives - he clearly DID criticise them initially, and now he's backtracked claiming he gets on great with them (they actually told some hacks after the first set of comments that he'd 'gone nuts'), and tomorrow on Football Focus he'll backtrack even more. Apart from anything else, the sheer TIME these antics waste, with multiple interviews, undermines his work as a manager. He desperately needs an assistant who listens to all his gripes in private, pats him on the back and tells him to get on with his work.

Whats everyones opinion of joey barton? Twat? Cunt? A man who continually voiced his opinions and concerns during the hillsborough trial. A Man at the hearings last year and cried.

Doing something for hillsborough doesn't mean you're not flawed as a human being and above criticism; it means that you have some level of compassion.

Those chelsea fans last years (LAST FUCKING SEASON) who chanted murderers.....Rafa wanted to represent them on the field. He wanted to bring their club success.

The man no doubt did care about hillsborough (as his actions showed.... BUT for me now i have a horrible cynical feeling in my stomach that he played on the supporters emotions whilst here.

Did he use us as a pawn in his fight against the owners?

Probably not, but its a feeling i cannot shake

You want to marry one of them.

Have you misplaced your fucking brain today or something?

Absolute spot on. The thing is he could have nipped this in the bud right from the start if he said to the Chelsea fans "yeah I made some comments about you when I was the Liverpool Manager but that was to defend my team and put pressure on you the opposition. Now that I am the Chelsea manager I will defend this team to the hilt and hope you can support me and the team. Those comments were made in the past and I hope we can put them aside and unite to achieve success on and off the pitch" blah blah blah.

If he'd only don't that then maybe the fans would have got off his back.

He certainly doesn't help himself at times

I'm not really that arsed he's gone to a club whose fans (and we're not talking the odd one or two morons here, we're talking thousands) couldn't show respect to people who had lost their lives but I am surprised that a man who has fought for overall control and criticised the board / owners of his previous clubs for interering, chose to work for Abramovich, one of the worst in the world for sticking his nose in. You made your bed, lie in it.

Peter, fortunately my Mrs and her family aren't cunts. I realise 99% of chelsea fans aren't cunts and most would find the chanting deplorable. All clubs have cunts. I could have met a liverpool Lass who chants Munich songs.

This isn't a go at chelsea fans, it's a go at rafa and his decision to try and make those cunts who did chant happy.

And as I previously said peter, I know my view will be mocked, I'll get called everything under The Lying Rag, but tbh I don't care.

The chelsea fans should support their club rather than bang their vendetta drum, but they can't get past his previous comments about them and their club.

Which is why I think he should've come out and made a statement about it and told the fans that it was in the past and we can move forward.

And I completely agree with that.

The man's a bit of a fool when a camera is near him

Ooo are you calling a cunt, cunt?
You in the cap, cunt!
Oi, I'm wearing a cap, too, ya cunt!
Yeah, you're just the cunt I meant, ya facking cunt!
Look, mate, you DO realise you're in the Cunts' Enclosure, dontcha? The Big Cunts' Enclosure is to the right, and the Massive Cunts' Enclosure is to the left, and the Cunts in Caps Enclosure is further up.
Oh, farking 'ell, no, sorry! Oh bladdy 'ell, I feel a right cunt now!

He said those very things when he first took the job. Fat lot of good it's done him.

I have nothing against Benitez, and of course he is still potentially a good manager, but this is what he always seems to do. Things go wrong in some way or another and he blames it all on the owners/board.

Ironically, he probably should have taken the advice given to him by the two cunts years ago when they told him to concentrate on coaching!

Maybe he is just really unlucky when it comes to who he ends up working for. But, even so, not sure 'really unlucky' is a trait you want in a manager either.

So he was wrong about Hicks and Gillette?

The match between us and Chelsea will be a good one. Rafa receiving thunderous applause from the opposition fans while being jeered by his club's fans.

Love football.

To be fair to Benitez, there ARE some real shits out there as owners, and also plenty of well-meaning incompetents, so it's not actually THAT odd that he should fall out with a few of them. It's not necessarily proof that HE is the problem. Just saying...

Agreed, and I've never been a part of the RCDNW brigade.

From what I see and read about his personality though, it's not surprising why he would not get along with most rich and influential people.

Im not part of rcdnr.
Rafa did LOADS for this club. His overhaul of the youth and acadamy set ups, his continuance of Houlliers building us as a force in Europe, he signed some world class players, he won two trophies.
But I fail to see what his feeling for the club has to do with any part of a debate about his merits as a manager.
Souness loved the club. Did a shit job.
Kenny second time loved the club. Did a shit job.
Houllier loved the club. Is RIDICULED for his later years.
Loving the club or being at the memorial is NOTHING to do with wether he is a good manager.
Its all a lot of folks seem to have to defend their position though.

I know im being ott saying he is shit. But thats just for jollies.
Hes an ok manager. In fact hes an OK coach. Hes a pretty poor manager.
When he takes over a squad (Cupers Valencia and Houlliers LFC) he seems to start well (excluding Inter and Chelsea where he wasnt wanted and faced other barriers) but when he takes control it ALL goes to shit (Youth setup excluded). And thats the problem. Hes an OK coach but a poor overlord.
He should have kept the trackie on.

But please stop with this maudling wailing 'loved the club' 'Cried about Hillsborough' shit. Its totally irrelevant.
