The grass isnt always greener on the other side.

This is similar to us getting rid of rafa when we did, mad decsions.

Good, his brand of anti-football makes my eyes bleed. Imagine paying to watch Stoke play for the past 6 years.

It's a tough call though isn't it? I agree their anti-football is mind-meltingly shit but, would you rather bully the crap out of bigger teams at home and have an aura around the club of being a tough place to go, and survive quite handily because of it. Cheering as you regularly dick supposed better teams. Or get raped every week like Wigan trying to play beautiful football?

From Stoke's point of view, its about right. They've remained 'stagnant' over the past couple of seasons. Signings haven't been inspiring - perhaps with the exception of N'Zonzi. What happened to Palacios? £6m down the drain? With the exception of the American lads, they've basically gone around signing Premier League squad players/rejects. You'd wonder if there was any scouting department. Then there's the goals statistics posted earlier. If they continue that form, they'll hardly win games next season. With the increased TV revenue, relegation will be disastrous.

At least the board did not had a knee-jerk reaction and sack him like Sunderland did to MON. He gets to leave having led the club to safety. They get the time to bring in the new man. The new manager has sufficient time to access squad/bring in targets, in time for 2013/14.

The problem is having to watch that every week. There is no enjoyment in that.

They've probably seen teams like Swansea play decent stuff but achieve the same results and want some of that. Can't really blame them but its a huge gamble

There was an article a short while back about this - their chief scout got sacked for complaining that his targets kept getting passed over.

Stoke dismiss chief scout after outburst

Stoke City have opted to dismiss current chief scout Lindsay Parsons after an alleged breach of contract following and outspoken interview in which he criticised manager Tony Pulis, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

During the interview last month, the 67-year-old claimed a number of potential signings he suggested had been ignored by Pulis, only for the players in question to go on and become successful at rival Premier League clubs.

Speaking to the Gloucestershire Echo, Parsons said: "Look at Lionel Messi, he is different class and is he too small? I have recommended players like [Cheick] Tiote, [Hatem] Ben Arfa and [Demba] Ba, but they have not been signed by Stoke and they have done well for other clubs.

"I remember one of the first names I gave to Tony at Stoke was a lightning-quick, 6ft 4in striker called (Emmanuel) Adebayor, but we were in the Championship and we were told the fee of £3 million was too much.

"We have loads of disagreements because I don't like the way they play and I will never change on that. I have been told that players I've recommended have been too small for Stoke, but I don't go along with that."

Parsons has been granted the right to appeal the club's decision with his fate likely to be decided early next week. If he does leave the Britannia Stadium, it will end a nigh 20-year association between himself and Pulis.

First joining the Stoke boss as his assistant at Gillingham, questions were initially raised over his future when the club decided to employ former goalkeeper Mark Cartwright as technical director back in December.

That was followed by a backroom shakeup in which the club's current director of football John Rudge and scout Sam Ellis were informed that their contracts would not be renewed at the end of the current season.

Butland could probably end up to be Pulis' last decent signing for Stoke. He seemed to be able to spot a good goalie though. Begovic was signed for £3.25 million from Portsmouth.

Martin O'Neill will fit the current team nicely - he'll totally slam the door shut on the sliver of light that the fans thought they saw with Pulis' sacking.

Apart from the horrendous football.... Why us Pulis a cunt?

The scout sounds a bit of a twit - if you don't agree with the manager about players or tactics you're not much help as a scout. But what a relief the twat in the hat has finally gone. I can't see Stoke doing anything but decline after this - if they go for a manager who actually likes to play football they'll have to completely rebuild the team, and if they go for Pulis-lite they'll just be easier to beat. Horrible team.

Baseball cap.
Sucks Fergie's cock.
Baseball cap.
Horrible abrasive personality.
Baseball fucking cap.

You know what - I was looking for a youtube clip on Tony Pulis' goal celebrations (on the rare occasions they scored) and I found this:

And then it dawned on me that this was probably the first time I'd ever seen him without a cap. I'm in shock that he has a forehead.

I'm surprised at this.

He only ever wears it for games.

After all, he'd look fucking stupid otherwise.

I think that's a silly decision by Stoke, Pulis had done a good job there for a long time apart from this season. Yes they invested but they could only do that because he had got them there and comfortable. No I didn't like they way they played but you can't argue that he made them a much tougher more, stable team, as reflected by the fact that not very many would have pegged them for relegation over the last 2 years. In truth style aside if he had not of moaned about Suarez then most would give him grudging respect at least.

I think its a strange decision that....

I bet Pulis will do well in the US. He wears baseball caps, likes players who keep fit and run around a lot and he'll probably pick up an American accent in no time.

Confirmed that he's left by mutual consent.
If he ends up at Everton I'll laugh my tits off
