Us four up by half time and a wobble in the second to finish 2-4

I reserve the right to increase our winning score if they start McTomminay and Fred

@moron this is what bad looks like in midfield

We would have beaten Palace if Naby started over Milner.

I don't think we would have. Main issue from the left side was Robbo, and main issue in midfield was fabinho. Milner recycled possession effectively.

Looks like this legend was back out training today.

Well they are trying to sign Cassimmiro , and in time for the game... what will happen then ? I think our midfield can be as bland as McFreddy

I'd be tempted to play Salah in the middle. Simply because lately Firmino is guaranteed to play shite. Play Harvey on the right of the front 3 in a roaming role.

Diaz needs to play on the left so he can come in onto his right foot.

Yeah I wouldn't be against

Henderson Fabinho Keita
Elliott Salah Diaz

-----------------------Diaz---------------------------
----Carvalho------------------------Salah---------
------------Keita----------------Elliott------------------
-------------------Henderson-------------------------
----Robbo---VVD--------Gomez-----Trent----------
---------------------Allison-----------------------------

Difficult to know what's going on with injuries at the minute, but I'd be looking to mix it up a bit. Keita only starts it he's looking sharp and fit in training. If so he's the best option there. Hag will have them passing it out, so it's a game for our best pressers. Fabinho has not impressed this season, so if Henderson can provide more effective screening and ball progression. It's going to need some work on the training ground whatever we do, but that's how I'd line up for it.

Klopp will likely starts Fabs.
You're nuts if you think Hendo can, even on his best day, provide 'more effective screening and ball progression' than Fabs on his worst. Regardless of whether Fabs has looked like his last season self or not ... he starts ahead of Hendo every time.

Casemiro (note the spelling Moron) won't be signed in time for ... this season.

Starting Henderson and Fabinho as a pairing is the hoary definition of insanity— we know what will happen yet hope it somehow won’t happen.

There are two games each season which I anticipate the most, I just hope we thrash them.
If we win I hope people will not forget our MF still needs added personnel.
I predict a 1-1 draw, Nabi to be injured

Even if they sign Casemiro, I have no doubt he'll go dogshit.
Look at Varane, a World Cup winner with more CL titles to his name than the whole Manchester and one of the best centre backs in the world by all accounts. The moment he signs for United he becomes a total clown

Fab's hasnt been that great for a while, he's barely mopping up anything at the minute, but don't let that cloud your usual "my predicted stats by Froggy".

Current RedCafe predictions:

36% - 0-5
12% - 0-3
!0% - 0-4
7% - 2-1 :yellowcard:
5% 1-4

30% - obviously something else

Multiple complaints the system only allows a maximum of 0-5

Christ it isn't until post 66 of their pre-match thread that anyone makes a positive comment

I don't have the stats to back me but based on purely watching the two games, Fabinho looked like he was a member of the LFC legends seniors team.

Utds midfield is dogshit, they are ragged and disorganized. But in McTominay and Fred they do have a couple of willing runners. The only way we lose this game is by letting them outwork us in midfield.

He has a spell like that every year where he plays like hes 10 years older than he really is, he must have some sort of underlying issue. He's also really slow at getting back to match sharpness after an injury break. He needs to find his rhythm

De Gea will have a blinder - saving everything we throw at him, Ronaldo will run us ragged with his movement, Rashford will score a brace, Sancho will tear us apart with his creative brilliance, Fernandes will get one of his shots on target and score, Maguire will dominate our forwards while Martinez towers over us, Shaw will cripple Salah and Fred will have our entire midfield in his back pocket.

Way to twist my words, I didn't say he was great at all, just better than Hendo, who has been shite, and I haven't checked anyone's stats on this 2 game season - but that wouldn't get in the way of the negativity on this site anyway as people just ignore them to go with 'what I've seen with my own eyes' (shame there's such disparity there as well - sort of negates that PoV).

Luckily LFC use stats and not their eyes.

Yeah but that wasn't my point mate. I wasn't bigging up his sub-par performances this season.

I'm guessing (hoping) it's the short break and not yet back to full fitness. The world cup break could do him good as it's unlikely he'll start many games.

Forget a win or a draw, can Manchester United summon a credible performance in their third game of an already listing campaign? With Liverpool their Monday evening visitors the obvious answer may be no, but as Jürgen Klopp’s team have drawn their first two games, maybe there is a glimmer of hope for Erik ten Hag’s side. While the United manager should not have to gee up his thus-far dismal players for a meeting with their arch-rivals, the same equation is true for Klopp, already four points behind Manchester City after only 180 minutes of football. Expect Cristiano Ronaldo to start once more despite his desire to leave, and for United’s fragile confidence to crumble should Liverpool get an early goal. If that occurs then the Old Trafford crowd will have to find its voice to try to offer what their team lacks badly: belief.
