Henry is right about Pickford though, dogshit, how is he England’s keeper? That has to be Ramsdale pretty soon.

Should be but England managers have always had their favourites.

Anyways, being a bit past it or average hasn't stopped a lot of other managers from picking up a pay cheque over the years so no reason for Rafa to jack it in.

Hendo's shot was a cracker for sure but Pickford was nowhere near saving it even when he watched it all the way.

Plenty had been fooled by his "for the tv" dives.

And I heard Spurs are after him, Conte can't be that daft.

You do realize you are posting on a forum named "Six Crazy Minutes"? Guess the origin of the name?

Rafa has made some horrendous career decisions and agree with LTW that it might be time for him to retire. But a little bit of respect to the man.

Only thing that I am going to say on this is that Rafa may have been the manager of Liverpool when we won the CL in 2005, but I believe that he had so very little to do with the final result.
It way not his tatical or managerial skills which won us the game, but rather his lack of trying to control what the team was doing on the pitch in the second half and just letting them play..
I can respect the teams that he as put together for Liverpool, but not the fact that he sets up teams with the first thought of not to lose games rather than going out to win games, nor the fact that CL was all ways his top target when the Title should have been.

And what he said to Klopp was having a dig at him believing that Klopp, saying that he would always be more loved by the Liverpool Supporters that Klopp because he won the CL.
Loss any respect I had for him right there

Did Osmon really say post game Salah was a good player 2 yrs ago but now is finally a great player? Seriously.
Has he been drunk on blue wine all this time??!

Are we going to discount the previous 12 games or so leading up the final that he also managed?
Just a quick recap of some his ability at the time in no particular order:
- sign Alonso, no way are we signing him without Rafa who was instrumental in the campaign
- Beat Juve and Chelsea over 2 legs, both on paper vastly superior teams to us.

Rafa maybe past it but let’s not rewrite history, for 5yrs he put us back on the map as a European power house.

Fairly tragic progression from Hart to Pickford to Ramsey. Ramsey is playing well, but not enough quality for a promising England team. GK is the weakest link in England squad today.

Rafa shot himself in the foot there, "always difficult against a side that's spent so much money"...

[article]Everton’s problems stretch far, far beyond Benitez. That does not mean they should persist with him because he is patently doing a poor job, even with less than ideal resources and those crushing injury problems. But four of the players that started that 5-2 defeat to Liverpool two years ago were in the XI on Wednesday, with one more on the bench and four of the others still contracted to the club.

This is a mess of hierarchical design, transfer market headless chickens coming home to roost as the supposed Grand Old Team succumbs to delusions of grandeur. A starting XI that cost £170.86m was exposed in the harshest of lights,
particularly when Benitez was still crowing post-match that “the other team have spent a lot of money”. Cenk Tosun, Fabian Delph and Anthony Gordon as the three substitute lambs thrown to the slaughter was a damning indictment on a team without direction on the pitch or in the boardroom. A couple of times the cameras cut to a shot of Marcel Brands and Bill Kenwright looking suitably glum in the stands and while Benitez might find himself out of work soon, questions must be asked of who the absent Farhad Moshiri is trusting to steer this ship and make the decisions.[/article]

Having Tsimikas come in and play well has been great for Robbo, it means that we don't have to overplay him when he's running on empty and he knws he has genuine competition for his place.

I wish we had a similar quality backup right back to give Trent a rest every now and then.

Huge win. At 1-2 i thought we could slip into Brighton/Brentford mentality and let them back into it but we kept going.

It was disappointing that at 0-2 we got sucked into their tactics and this is what let them back in, but we pulled ourselves together and gave them a good pasting.

MOTM was between Hendo & Robbo for me.

Agree, but I think this game also let us get rid of the latest bad experiences that we've encountered at Goodison of late.
We got sucked in by the crowd, hurried tempo and route one football for 15 mins in the first half. But the way we just took command in the second was very impressive. Very much a mature display and the difference in quality between the two sides was staggering.

As someone said on Twitter last night, I think an Everton fan, that when Coleman and Pickford had a miscommunication and fuck up after 1 minute into the game. Coleman gave him a bollocking and Pickfords response was to laugh - which just underlined the difference in professionalism and why they'd loose this game.

Is it what we needed for the long haul? Brighton and Brentford we just lost it. Last night we regained our composure and then went back to the plan. Knowing we can do that and not go into our shells once again must be good for us mentally.

Honestly it's massively clear what a difference Thiago makes to our team in this regard. When he's up to speed he really helps us play with a confidence and control that we need in games like this, Brighton, West Ham and Brentford are examples of when we've massively missed him.

***when he's up to speed because when he's rusty he has the opposite effect giving away cheap turnovers which further panics the team, it's a fine line.

I agree... but I thought he was poor last night
